Opportunity for a Consents Engineer - Marine & Tunnelling working with Balfour Beatty on the Sizewell C Project,


The Consent Engineer will be support the Portion Consent Manger to ensuring the Marine and Tunnel (M&T) Portion complies and liaises with the DCO / MMO organisation, and consenting bodies during the design and delivery of the portion. The Consent Engineer will draft and collate the required documentation and information for the consents, permits and licences.


Main Duties:

 

  • Support the Consent Manager in liasing with SZC and the Consenting bodies.  
  • Drafting the required documentation. 
  • Support the Portion to sequence and schedule the works.  
  • Support the Technical Managers to ensure the proposed methodology DCO / MMO / EA. 
  • Create a Lessons Learned report from HPC. 


DCO and MMO: 

 

  • Ensuring the M&T Portion follows the DCO and MMO requirements,  
  • Co-ordinate and manage the MMO License application for the portion works, 
  • Co-ordinate and manage the M&T Portion DCO "Deed of Obligation" requirements,  
  • Producing the required documentation for Sizewell C Consents team. 
     

Consenting Bodies - Example list of bodies: 
     

  • Environmental Agency - Water discharge and Tunnelling application. 
  • Trinity House - offshore works and working zones.  
  • Local Authority - Local and regional Councils.

  • Proven ability to understand DCO and Consenting body requirements,  
  • Meeting management, 
  • Strong interpersonal skills collaborative behaviours, 
  • Lessons Learned,
  • Degree qualification in Civil Engineering with experience in leadership and oversight of roads and networks projects of a similar scope and scale 
  • Experience of delivering projects in a highly regulated environment 
  • Experience of delivering projects in the nuclear sector 
  • Design management leadership experience 
  • Experience in Roads and Networks delivery at HPC
