Concrete Plant Operative


Location: Ipswich, Suffolk, IP5

Salary: Competitive


Company Overview:


We are a leading provider of Plant and Heavy Machinery to the construction, demolition, and agriculture industries. Our Concrete Division is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Concrete Plant Operative to lead the production and delivery of our BSI Certified concrete.


Position Overview:


The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful operation of the Concrete Batching system and ensuring the highest quality ready mixed concrete is delivered, meeting our customer’s needs. Other tasks involved may include plant machinery operating (loading shovel, forklift etc.)


Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Operate the batching plant effectively in accordance with company standards and procedures.
  • Maintain the site, plant, buildings, and equipment in a clean and secure condition always.
  • Handle customer enquiries and orders courteously, upholding the company’s image.
  • Ensure full compliance with the company’s cash sale procedures, reconciling and receipting all transactions before handover for banking.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials and stock dates as required.
  • Conduct all technical testing necessary for concrete production to the correct standards and within specified timescales.
  • Supervise other staff and drivers at the plant to ensure optimal productivity while maintaining health and safety, environmental, and quality assurance standards.
  • Ensure all visitors sign the visitors section of the plant inspection sheet and comply with all site procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Maintain awareness and compliance with the company’s health and safety and environmental policies, promptly communicating any perceived or known non-conformances to the appropriate department head.

Requirements:

 

  • Working knowledge of concrete production, plant, and materials is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Composure under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent IT literacy.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Full Driving License
  • 2years UK experience
