Civils Site Engineer (Sizewell C)

Main Duties:


Managed and supervised construction of temporary bentonite slabs, ensuring correct installation, alignment, and protection prior to permanent works

Oversaw blinding works, ensuring correct thickness, levels, surface finish, and compliance with drawings and specifications

Coordinated and inspected base reinforcement installation, including rebar fixing, spacing, laps, cover, and compliance with design and BBS

Supervised formwork erection and striking, ensuring stability, dimensional accuracy, and safe systems of work

Managed concrete placement operations, including pre-pour inspections, pour sequencing, vibration, curing, and quality control

Ensured correct installation of expansion joints and crack inducers in accordance with design requirements and method statements

Liaised with subcontractors, site management, and design teams to resolve technical issues and maintain programme

Carried out setting out, level checks, and dimensional control using survey equipment

Ensured works were delivered in compliance with health & safety regulations, RAMS, and project quality standards

Completed inspections, permits, and quality assurance documentation (ITPs, check sheets, pour cards)

Monitored materials, workmanship, and site progress, reporting to senior engineers and management

Coordinated general civils works, including temporary works interfaces and sequencing of construction activities

Provided daily reporting to the Project Manager and senior management on progress, quality, safety, and programme impacts


Requirements:


NVQ Level 6/7
Degree / Academic Qualification

BEng / MEng in:


Civil Engineering
Structural Engineering
Construction Engineering


SMSTS or SSSTS

Temporary Works Supervisor or Temporary Works Coordinator
Strong RC / formwork / concrete experience
Daily reporting to PM & senior management
5 Years + Hands on experience as a Civils site Engineer
