Civil Engineering - Traffic Marshal
Role Overview:
LogicalPS are recruiting on behalf of a tier 1 contactor for an experienced Civil Engineering Traffic Marshal to manage traffic flow on a major Nuclear New Build site in Leiston, Suffolk.
Qualifications:
- Valid CSCS card
- Valid Traffic Marshall certification (required)
- First Aid certification (preferred)
Payrates:
- £16.94p/h + OT after 39 hours.
- Lodge for non-locals, mileage, radius.
- Full PAYE including pension and 31 days holiday.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Implement site-specific traffic management plans and direct vehicle and pedestrian movements, ensuring safe access and parking. Oversee delivery and subcontractor access whilst ensuring compliance with procedures and minimising delays.
- Ensure on-site safety standards, including speed limits, PPE use, and designated routes. Regular checks of traffic management equipment, signage, and barriers ensuring correct positioning & condition. Report unsafe practices, hazards, or incidents to the site supervisor or manager.
- Liaise with drivers, subcontractors & visitors to coordinate site movements by providing clear instructions on access protocols.
- Maintain accurate logs of vehicle movements, deliveries, incidents, and daily traffic management activities. Respond to incidents/emergencies, assisting emergency services by providing directions and site information, supporting investigations as required.
Experience:
- Excellent communication and observational skills.
- Strong understanding of traffic management techniques.
- Physical fitness – may stand for long periods of time.
- Experience in traffic marshal duties on construction/ civil engineering projects.
