Location: Sizewell C site-based, Leiston, Suffolk ( 5 days a week onsite).
Contract: Permanent, full-time.
Salary: £70,000 £80,000 per annum - dependant on experience.

Assurance Lead Mechanical
We are seeking a mechanically focused Assurance Lead to support the delivery of construction and maintenance works across SZC’s critical infrastructure. Reporting to the Assurance & Utilities Manager, you’ll oversee mechanical systems and utilities, ensuring safety, reliability, and performance across SZC’s assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead mechanical construction and maintenance activities across SZC-owned infrastructure.
Oversee installation and upkeep of mechanical systems including water pumping, water treatment, desalination & conveyor systems.
Manage reactive and planned maintenance, fault investigations, and system repairs.
Ensure compliance with mechanical safety rules and health & safety procedures.
Act as Senior Authorised Person and Control Person for mechanical works and documentation.
Coordinate mechanical works to minimise disruption to SZC’s electricity, water, and IT&T supplies.
Support budget planning and delivery for mechanical operations.
Provide technical input to design and commissioning of mechanical systems.
Deputise for the Assurance & Utilities Manager and lead team briefings when required.
Maintain high standards of safety management and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Bring
Essential:
Strong experience with mechanical systems operating from 400V to 11kV.
HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
Proven ability to manage mechanical maintenance and construction projects.
Knowledge of specialist mechanical equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Strong planning, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Project, and relevant software.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
Experience with SZC processes and infrastructure.
IOSH or NEBOSH safety qualification.
CSCS or CCNSG certification.
Understanding of CDM Regulations.
Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills.
Senior Authorised Person (SAP) under E&M Safety Rules.
