Assistant Quantity Surveyor  

 
TCi (GB) Ltd provides commercial & industrial new-build construction, interior fit-out & refurbishment, office and welfare furniture supply and installation. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work on a key local project in Sizewell. 
 

 

Roles & Responsibilities: 


•    Prepare and assist in the preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, with the architect and/or the client.
•    Undertake and assist in cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
•    Establish and assist in establishing a client’s requirements and undertake feasibility studies.
•    Perform and assist in performance risk analysis, value management, and cost control.
•    Advise on and assist in developing procurement strategies for new and existing projects.
•    Identify, analyse, and develop responses to commercial risks.
•    Prepare and analyse costings for tenders.
•    Allocate and assist in the allocation of work to subcontractors.
•    Provide advice on contractual claims.
•    Analyse outcomes and prepare detailed commercial, construction, and progress reports.
•    Value completed work, measure and value works on site, and arrange payments, including payment of subcontractors.
•    Maintain and develop awareness of the different building contracts in current use.
•    Assist the commercial team in pricing/tendering works as required.
•    Price/forecast the cost of materials needed for projects.
•    Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly.
•    Procure or agree the services of contractors and/or subcontractors.
•    Liaise with clients and other construction professionals, such as site managers, project managers, or site engineers.
•    Complete and assist in the completion of commercial reports, tender trackers, CVRs, and other required documentation.
•    Keep systems updated with all new, in-progress, and completed projects.
 

Requirements:

 
•    Practical and logical mindset with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
•    Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
•    Proactive in identifying and resolving issues.
•    Strong organisational, numerical, and financial management skills.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, precise reports and present information effectively to stakeholders.
•    Proficient in the use of relevant IT packages and software.
•    Confident negotiation skills with the ability to achieve commercially favourable outcomes.
•    Practical understanding of NEC3, NEC4, and JCT 2016 contract suites (including associated building contracts, warranties, and bonds).
•    Full UK driving licence.
•    Ability to pass Drugs & Alcohol (D&A) testing and BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) vetting.
•    Eligibility to work in the UK.
