Join our Rail team as an Assistant Project Manager on the Sizewell C Rail Scheme and you'll deliver complex work that really matters to our business, and the world around you!


Supporting the Senior Project Manager, the successful candidate will be a change agent that provides management, leadership and inspires a multi-disciplinary team to achieve a common goal.


As Assistant Project Manager you will responsible for:

 

  • Develop and maintain excellent client relationships by effective and timely communication and producing reports in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that expenditure is in line with the budget and that resources are utilised efficiently to ensure cost control.
  • Analyse, appraise and implement CEs.
  • Ensure that robust and accurate cost plans are produced and reported against on a weekly basis
  • Effective management of our Subcontractors and Suppliers ensuring compliance to all contractual and safety requirements.
  • Approval and implementation of Project Quality Plans, Safety Plans, and Tool Box Talks.
  • Support the safe delivery of the Project, fostering a positive safety culture.
  • Lead by example to effectively support the company Safety Behavioural Programme including implementation of safety initiatives.
  • Timely submission of internal and external reports; such as Client's Monthly Project Progress, and Stage Gate 6 reports to agreed format.
  • Ensure that site records are produced and reviewed, to include site diaries, plant, labour, material returns and change records as minimum.
  • Produce and maintain Project Risk logs identifying mitigation measures to minimise potential impact.
  • Ensure that approved Contract Programmes are in place prior to commencement of works and progress monitored on a regular basis.
  • Line Management responsibility, professional development and training requirements for project staff allocated.


The following qualities/experience are essential:

 

  • CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management)  is desired
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Rail industry, including construction techniques and processes in Track and Civils disciplines.
  • Personal Track Safety.
  • Excellent communication & people skills - developing & managing the relationship with the client is a key element to this contract.
  • Ability to work under pressure, remaining focused and professional.
  • Ability to positively influence others to achieve set objectives and targets.
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with others to achieve aligned outcomes.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, solve problems, and motivate others, while maintaining effective relationships with customers by meeting or exceeding their requirements and expectations
