Fixed Term Contract

Role Overview


As part of the Sizewell C project, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will oversee and manage all commercial and contractual aspects of the project. The role involves leading cost planning, contract administration, subcontractor management and team supervision to ensure effective financial delivery of the project.


Main Responsibilities

•     Support the project in general QS and commercial issues
•     Preparation of cost estimates
•     Work with cost controller to manage and monitor the projects to achieve the objective and control budget cost for the project
•     Procurement and tendering
•     Contract administration, variation, final account, etc.
•     Preparation of narrative and supporting documents for claims submission
•     Secure full and timely entitlement to payment through payment application and final account
•     Liaise with construction project teams and provide guidance on contractual matters (scope of work, contractual responsibility of the project, contract duration)
•     Supervise and manage the taking off from drawings and pricing for cost estimates, tender documents, etc.
•    Preparation of sub-letting documents, tender analysis and participate in tender interviews with sub-contractors for obtaining major clarification in both condition terms and further concessions offered by sub-contractors. Make recommendation to Project Manager for sub-contract award
•     Leading and coaching junior staff in delivery of services, including checking on the works done by junior staff
•     Collaborate and develop good relationship with clients and stakeholders internally and externally
•     Attend meetings and site inspections when required
•     Comply with VSL QA requirements and best practice
•     Preparation of Income and sub-contractor liabilities forecast, cash flow forecast and monthly internal valuation for Top management to achieve cost control of the project


Required Skills

•    Bachelor in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
•    Good leadership and interpersonal skills
•    Able to work independently and lead a team

 

Required Experience

•    Minimum 8 years experience of related working experience in large scale projects
•    Corporate member of RICS or equivalent
