An exciting career opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Planner to work alongside our Project Managers and our Delivery Teams for our works at Hinkley Point C (HpC) and other UK based activities.

 

HPC is currently the largest construction site in Europe building the UK’s next generation of nuclear energy supply and we have multiple installations planned over the next few years.  We are also the supplier of Nuclear Instrumentation to the UK Nuclear industry as part of our global operations.

 

The Project Planner will support these activities requiring an integrated and collaborative approach to planning and delivery.  Success in this role requires strong stakeholder management, analytical thinking and the ability to translate complex programme data into actionable insights that support efficient and compliant project delivery.

 

Travel to various sites (UK and occasionally overseas) will be expected to complete tasks as required.

 

Applicants must be either a British or EU passport holder due to strict security clearance required for this role.  As a minimum requirement you must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check, with the potential for undergoing security vetting to SC level.


Key Responsibilities: 

•    Develop, maintain and update project schedules, ensuring alignment with overall delivery objectives
•    Build logical installation sequences and track progress with site teams and supply chain partners
•    Analyse performance data, identify risks/opportunities, and advise on impacts and mitigation
•    Coordinate with internal teams (design, engineering, commercial, supply chain) on all time related matters
•    Perform Critical Path Analysis and manage programme changes to maintain schedule accuracy and integrity
•    Provide clear and confident progress reporting to stakeholders and clients
•    Ensure compliance with NEC contract requirements and support robust governance. 
•    Lead programme coordination, proactively gathering information to maintain accurate schedules and support informed decision making
•    Optimise labour and resource planning to drive efficient project delivery

Skills and Experience

•    Strong planning and scheduling experience on complex, multi discipline infrastructure or construction projects
•    Proficient in Primavera P6 and advanced Excel for data analysis and performance tracking
•    Good understanding of NEC contract requirements, Critical Path Analysis, programme change control, and core planning methodologies
•    Capable of effective resource planning aligned to delivery objectives
•    Excellent communication and reporting skills, confident presenting to clients and senior leadership
•    Strong analytical and problem solving ability, including risk identification and mitigation
•    Able to proactively gather information to maintain accurate schedules and manage stakeholders across teams, subcontractors, and clients
•    Professional accreditation (APM, PMI, or equivalent) and understanding of EVM desirable
