Hinkley Support Operative – Bronze Training Programme

 

Location: Bridgwater


Dates: Monday 10th November – Friday 21st November 2025


Time: 09:00 – 16:00, Monday to Friday


Duration: 2 weeks (FREE programme)

 

Opportunity

 

Would you like to start a new career at Hinkley Point C and earn £35,000+ per year as a General Labourer? This programme provides the essential training to prepare you for site work and guarantees an interview with the Mechanical Engineering & HVAC Alliance (MEHA).

 

Eligibility

 

To apply, you must:

 

  • Have the right to work in the UK - You will be asked to provide proof of this.

  • Be aged 18+

  • Live within 90 minutes of Jct 23 or Jct 24 (M5) – HPC Park & Ride - You will be asked to provide proof of this. 

  • Be new to the Engineering Construction Industry

 

What is the Bronze Programme?

 

The Hinkley Support Operative (HSO) Bronze programme prepares you for entry-level General Labourer roles at HPC. It also opens up potential pathways into apprenticeships and further training within the engineering construction sector.

 

What You’ll Learn

 

You will gain HPC-recognised safety and skills training, including:

 

  • CCNSG Safety Passport (mandatory industry health & safety certification)

  • Confined Space (Medium Risk)

  • Working at Heights

  • Abrasive Wheels

  • Firewatcher

  • Manual Handling

  • Safe Use of Hand & Power Tools

  • Working Safely in Nuclear Environments (“Hinkley Point C Ready” unit)

 

What You’ll Get

 

  • Free 2-week training programme

  • Qualifications required to work safely on site

  • Guaranteed interview with MEHA for potential labouring roles (day and night shifts available; night shifts include pay uplift)

 

About Hinkley Point C

 

Hinkley Point C is the UK’s first new nuclear power station in over 20 years, supplying low-carbon electricity to 6 million homes. The project will create 25,000 jobs and up to 1,000 apprenticeships, with a long-term commitment to developing new entrants into the industry.
