Driver / Yard Operative - Tier 2 Contractor

Fixed Term - 6 months initially with the potential to extend


The Driver / Yard Operative will support the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of roofing and cladding works at Turbine Hall HM2 at Hinkley Point C. Based at our materials yard in Taunton, the role will require the management of all goods in/out of Taunton. This role will require forklift operations to load/unload materials. We will have our own flat-bed truck for delivering materials to HPC site. General yard duties including cleaning, housekeeping and maintenance also required.

 


Delivery / Logistics 


•    Demonstrate nuclear professionalism at all times, including a questioning attitude, procedural compliance, and intervention where unsafe acts or conditions are observed
•    Forklift operations
•    Loading/unloading flat bed vehicle with materials to deliver to site 
•    Managing goods in/out
•    Material/stock management 
•    Support compliance with all HPC safety, security, quality, and environmental controls, including access control and behavioural standards

 

Yard Operations


•    Stock management
•    Accepting goods/materials in 
•    General cleaning duties
•    Forklift operations
•    General housekeeping around yard
•    Safe storage of materials

 

Housekeeping & Environmental Control


•    Maintain HPC best practice standards of housekeeping across all assigned work areas
•    Ensure waste is segregated and disposed of in line with site environmental management plans
•    Keep walkways, emergency routes, and access ways clear at all times
•    Support a clean, organised, and hazard-free work environment


Qualifications


•    Valid CSCS Card 
•    Counterbalance training required (forklift)
•    Hinkley Point C Site Induction (or willingness to complete)
•    MEWP/MCWP Awareness, Manual Handling, Working at Height (Desirable)


Experience


•    Previous experience HPC environment preferred
•    Experience with driving vans/trucks
•    Good understanding of workface safety, interface control, and housekeeping standards
•    Previous experience operating a forklift
