During our three and a half year programme you’ll study for a level 6 Cyber Security Technical Professional Apprenticeship with our training provider, Gloucester College. 
You’ll spend time in different parts of our IT Teams and complete your studies through block release study weeks. You may also travel to other EDF sites or offices, but most of the roles are based in the South West of England.
When you’re not studying, you’ll take on tasks including supporting Security Incident and Event Management activities, Architectural reviews of proposed changes to our IT environment, and also maintaining and developing awareness of current information security technology and threats, to help protect our IT systems. 
As you progress through your apprenticeship you’ll gain knowledge and experience and take on more responsibility, such as: security architecture, vulnerability scans and / or risk assessments, representing the Security Team at forums and events, and be responsible for particular policies, standards and other documents.


What you’ll need to apply: 

 

  • Five GCSE’s in the A* to C or 9 to 4 range including English and Maths
  • 112 UCAS tariff points. Hold an appropriate level 3 qualification, typically have at least three A levels at Grades A*-C including a relevant IT/Cyber qualification. 
  • Passion for and awareness of cyber security. For example, current threats and vulnerabilities
