Operations Lead - Transport (Sizewell C)

In this role, you'll use technology to manage driver and service flow from departure points through to final destinations. You'll also proactively engage with both customers and colleagues to ensure expectations are met-and exceeded-at every opportunity.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Leading and managing a team, in supervising all operational activities within SPS locations and SZC locations.
  • Actively championing all health & safety and security guidelines and procedures, whilst ensuring all employees comply with the expected standards.
  • Working closely with the Operations Manager on rotas and to ensure that there is adequate staff coverage and systems are up to date at all times.
  • Identifying and resolving daily operational issues, including scheduling and allocation, vehicle issues and driver queries.
  • Arranging Tours as requested, including driver allocation, risk assessments and EU/Tachograph training
  • Planning and implementing new routes and service changes including risk assessments, vehicle tests and driver familiarisation.
  • Acting as Transport Manager for the company ensuring compliance with all O Licence undertakings.
  • Escalating key concerns which can't be resolved immediately, whilst providing proactive suggestions for resolutions and improvements in a timely manner.
  • Overseeing the supervision of bus stands, utilising the Tracking software, ensuring adequate resource is allocated to deal with passenger queries, proactively engage with customers and manage any queues
  • Attending daily client meetings and ensuring all key messages and tasks are understood and actioned within the team.
  • Ensuring that there is an accurate and concise record of passenger numbers upon arrival, allocation and departure of buses.
  • Ensuring all relevant and notable information is documented and communicated to the Duty Manager at the end of each shift.
  • Actively engaging with both supervisor and driver colleagues through listening, effective communication, having awareness of mental health issues, providing support and recognition.
  • Deputising for Operations Manager on operational matters as required
  • Adhering to all Specialist Passenger Solutions policies and procedures at all times.
  • Liaising with our client in a professional and positive manner at all times.


Essential criteria:

 

  • Transport Manager CPC
  • Supervisory experience
  • Good understanding of IT
  • Delivering a high level of customer service and dealing with customer complaints.
  • A flexible approach to working hours as we are a 24/7 business.
  • IOSH Working Safely (Training can be provided)
  • Banks Person Trained (Training can be provided)
  • Driving Licence


Desirable:

 

  • L3 Team Leader qualification
  • PCV licence holder
  • Influencer Training
  • First Aid
  • CITB or CCNSG
  • L3 Health & Safety Supervisor
  • Knowledge of the transport sector
