Job Responsibilities
• Leads the safe and effective execution of offshore construction activities as part of a self-delivery team, acting as the Project Manager's representative at the offshore worksite.
• Coordinates site teams, vessels, marine plant & equipment, and daily operations to deliver works in accordance with the programme, method statements, and technical requirements.
• Maintains accurate offshore records including daily progress reports, permits, safety briefings, and task planning.
• Champions health, safety, and environmental standards offshore, leading Toolbox Talks, pre-task briefings, and behavioural safety initiatives.
• Interfaces with onshore support teams, Offshore Superintendents, and Subcontractor teams to ensure clear communication and delivery continuity across project phases.
Qualifications
• Formal qualification in construction, engineering or maritime operations (e.g. HNC/HND/BSc/BEng) in Construction, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
• CSCS card and SMSTS (or equivalent HSE site management training).
• Sea Survival certification or willingness to obtain as part of onboarding (e.g., STCW, OPITO-approved BOSIET, or equivalent).
• Current UK driving licence
Essential
• Strong understanding of safe systems of work and HSE standards specific to offshore construction.
• Experience leading site operations for marine construction projects.
• Ability to plan, coordinate and deliver offshore works in line with programme and specifications.
• Familiar with the production and management of permits, including Hot Works, Confined Space and
Working at Height.
• Skilled in producing and interpreting technical documents, method statements and risk
assessments.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of offshore delivery.
• Proven track record of contributing to project delivery and driving site productivity.
• Understanding of quality processes, non-conformance management, and audit systems.
• Proficient in use of site recording and productivity tracking tools.
• 3-5 years' experience in offshore/marine construction delivery.
Desirable
• Knowledge of NEC or similar contracts.
• Understanding of temporary works coordination.
• Experience of producing handover documentation and QA records.
• Experience with marine logistics planning and vessel coordination.
• Experience with marine piling, lifting, survey, diving operations.
