Bachy Soletanche are currently recruiting for a Managing Quantity Surveyor, to join their Ipswich and Leiston based team on one of the most significant infrastructure projects in the UK.


Working as part of our Projects division and as part of our collaborative alliance, you'll manage commercial operations for complex civil engineering works, including advanced techniques like piling, diaphragm walling, soil mixing, and grouting. This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and lead a high-performing team delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality results.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all cost management activities across major projects or multiple smaller ones.
  • Oversee procurement, tender evaluations, and risk management strategies.
  • Prepare and monitor budgets, target costs, and delay/disruption programmes.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and provide commercial leadership.
  • Lead, mentor and develop commercial team members, supporting their professional growth.
  • Drive digital innovation and performance benchmarking.


Qualifications and Experiene:

Essential:

  • BSc/MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
  • Chartered membership of RICS, ICES, or CIOB.
  • Proven leadership experience managing commercial teams on large-scale projects.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
  • Excellent Project Management skills.
  • Ability to identify risks, opportunities, and deliver value for money.

 

Beneficial:

  • Previous experience or exposure to NEC Contracts.
  • Piling/Civils experience.
