Pressure Compliance Manager (Sizewell C)

Location: London or Bristol (3 days a week).

Employment basis: Permanent and the role is expected to be a full-time position.
Working pattern: We operate on an office-based contract model, but support hybrid working where possible. This means you’ll need to be based within reasonable travel distance of the office and able to attend in person when business needs require, typically 3 days per week, though this may vary by team or project. Flexibility to be on site when needed is essential.
Salary: £73,000 - £80,000 dependent on experience plus bonus, market leading pension and other flexible benefits.

The Opportunity

Are you looking for a career which is rewarding, at the cutting edge of project development and where you can really make a difference? Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy.

Following on from the success of the new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C (HPC), the Sizewell C Project (SZC) in Suffolk is the UK’s next nuclear power new build project. The project has obtained planning approval and has started construction works. It has recently achieved Financial Investment Decision (FID) meaning that all the funding for the full lifespan of the project is now secured and in place guaranteeing the full delivery of this new nuclear power station. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.

The Role

We’re looking for a visionary leader to join our Quality Directorate team within Sizewell C, reporting directly to our Head of Pressure Compliance.

As Pressure Compliance Manager you’ll lead the charge in ensuring all Nuclear Island (NI) and Conventional Island (CI) pressure equipment meets stringent regulatory standards. You’ll oversee compliance with pressure-related policies, acting as the final arborator of decision making.

Working closely with our third-party assessors, you’ll ensure their evaluations align with internal policies and regulatory expectations. As Compliance Pressure Manager you’ll will be pivotal in maintaining operational excellence — guiding Pressure Compliance Engineers to fully understand and implement recommendations at ground level.

This is a high-impact role requiring technical authority, regulatory insight, and the ability to confidently arbitrate complex decisions in a safety-critical environment.

Pay and Benefits

Alongside a competitive salary from £73,000 to £80,000, there is also a bonus up to 5% , a market leading pension (up to 15% employee contributions) also other flexible benefits including health care screening (employee and partner), critical illness insurance, electric vehicle leasing, gym membership, season ticket loans and more.

We work on an office-based contract model, but we’re big supporters of hybrid working where it makes sense. For this role, you can be based at either our project offices in London (Copthall Avenue) or Bristol (Aztec West). But please note being flexible and able to be on-site when required is really important.

Skills

Strong mechanical engineering foundation with practical industry insight.
Proven experience in highly regulated sectors like Nuclear or Oil & Gas.
In-depth understanding of UK & French pressure regulations.
Confident working with UK regulators.
Hands-on expertise with ASME, RCC-M and EN mechanical codes.
Skilled in leading conformity assessments and ensuring regulatory alignment.

Desirable

Knowledge of nuclear systems and pressure equipment compliance.

If you thrive in a high-stakes environment and are ready to help deliver some of the most complex projects in the energy sector, we’d love to hear from you!

As this role is within a government-funded project, we are required to comply with strict UK right-to-work legislation. Unfortunately, this means we are unable to provide visa sponsorship or support with immigration applications. To be considered, applicants must already hold the legal right to live and work in the UK. We are committed to equality of opportunity and warmly welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates who meet this requirement.

Why Join Us?

For more than 60 years, nuclear power stations in the UK have been quietly keeping Britain fuelled with massive amounts of home-grown energy.

Our teams up and down the country are proudly continuing to serve the nation – but they also have an eye on the future.

EDF is leading the UK's nuclear renaissance with the construction of a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C and plans for a new power station at Sizewell C in Suffolk.

Nuclear power is the most reliable, low-carbon energy source currently available to the UK. EDF is playing a key role in the development of nuclear sites, while Hinkley Point C will provide low-carbon electricity to meet 7% of the UK demand. The project is already making a positive impact on the local and national economy as well as boosting skills and education.

We’re not just building new nuclear power stations. We’re developing careers, upskilling generations and creating thousands of employment and apprenticeship opportunities across a variety of skills areas.

It takes a special kind of person to work in the nuclear energy industry and although we have thousands of them there’s always a need for more.

Our industry has a mind-boggling range of opportunities and more jobs, and in more places, than you might think. But it’s also an industry which is changing.

We’re a responsible business and proud to be Britain’s biggest generator of zero carbon electricity. With size, age and experience, we believe we can do even more.
