I'm thrilled to share an exciting opportunity for a Lead Estimator to join our exceptional team at the Civil Works Alliance (CWA). We are dedicated to supporting the construction of the Sizewell C power station, a monumental 3.2-gigawatt facility that will supply low-carbon electricity to around 6 million homes, playing a crucial role in our energy future for the next 60 years.


Position: Lead Estimator

Location: London - St Martins Court/Remote working
Line Manager: Head of Estimating
Function: TOC - Estimating


As the Lead Estimator, you will manage a versatile team comprising Senior Estimators, Estimators, and Assistant Estimators, developing cost planning and pricing for the Alliance Services and Plant & Logistics section of the Sizewell C project. 


Your role will involve:

 

  • Ensuring consistent estimating approaches as set by our client.
  • Producing robust estimating documentation, validated both internally and externally.
  • Engaging with stakeholders, including planning and procurement teams, to produce detailed estimates.
  • Presenting and justifying pricing transparently to senior leaders and external partners.


What We're Looking For:


Essential Skills & Experience:

 

  • Proficiency in Excel and similar software.
  • Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
  • Background in infrastructure main contracting within the civil engineering market.


Desirable Skills & Experience:

 

  • Experience with Candy Estimating Software and RIB Cost X Quantification & Estimating Software.
  • Familiarity with AACE principles of Estimating Class and associated maturity.
  • Chartered status from recognized industry bodies (e.g., ICE, CICES, RICS, CIOB).
