  • Hourly Rate: £28.18ph
  • Weekly Working Hours & OT
  • Mon to Thursday 0700 – 1700. 40 min break.  
  • O/T at x1.4 Fridays and Sat < Midday, and x1.8 thereafter.


ECSA ACCOMODATION ALLOWANCE 2024  
   

  • Effective from 9 January 2023    
  • Daily rate    £48.16
  • Weekly rate    £337.12

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • To ascertain job requirements from drawings and /or other specifications.
  • To position and secure parts to be welded, using jigs and fixtures as necessary.
  • To select appropriate welding equipment such as gas torch, portable arc equipment, semiautomatic or automatic machine.
  • To fit appropriate torch tips, electrodes, etc to equipment.
  • To connect hoses to gas tanks or wires from power supply to electrode and work piece.
  • To adjust controls to regulate gas pressure, voltage or amperage.
  • To preheat parts to be welded.
  • To clean and smooth weld and examine visually.
  • To join metals by using the following welding process and equipment; manual metal-arc equipment, metal-arc gas shielded equipment, Tungsten-arc gas shielded equipment.
  • To operate overhead crane and basic slinging in a safe manner.
  • To adhere to all safety requirements including safety checks of tools and equipment.
  • To use Oxy/fuel hand burning/heating/cutting equipment.
  • To use all relevant workshops/site equipment associated with job requirements including all relevant training/ certification requirements.


Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • Approved Apprenticeship/NVQ level 3. Minimum 2 (two) years site experience, with experience on a Petro-Chemical Site Will require to be specifically qualified to ASME 1X or EN287 as appropriate.
  • Valid Site Safety Passport.
