Role Purpose:
The Welder will be responsible for performing high-quality welding tasks on a nuclear infrastructure project, ensuring all work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
The role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to strict safety protocols to maintain the integrity of the nuclear facility
What you'll be doing
- As a Welder, you will have the following accountabilities;
- Perform various types of welding (TIG, MIG, ARC) on different materials, including stainless steel, carbon steel, and alloys.
- Execute welding tasks based on blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Ensure all welds meet quality standards and project requirements and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to determine pipe layout.
- Conduct inspections and tests on welds to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Identify and repair defects in welds as necessary.
- Maintain records of welding procedures and inspections.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, particularly those related to nuclear safety.
- Use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) properly.
- Participate in safety drills and training sessions.
- Maintain accurate logs of welding activities, including materials used, procedures followed, and inspection results.
- Report any issues or incidents to the Welding Supervisor or Project Manager promptly.
- Work closely with other welders, fabricators, engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless project execution.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning and problem-solving
Who we're looking for
- The following qualities/experience are essential:
- Experience as a Welder in an infrastructure environment
- Hold correct industry grade card
- Ability to achieve BPSS
