Turnkey Systems Engineer (CON40079)
The MEH Alliance - Blafour Beatty Kilpatrick 
Hinkley Point C 

 

 

Accountabilities: 
1. To be the MEH JV topic lead for the installation of the IEG Turnkey Systems (specialist control and monitoring systems).
2. To work with the MEHJV I&C team, cable termination team and HV/LV installation team to make sure the Turnkey Systems are coordinated and planned as part of the wider MEHJV installation scope.
3. To provide safety advice and guidance relating to the installation of the IEG Turnkey Systems.
4. To develop the MEH JV IEG Turnkey Systems installation strategies.
5. To support the building delivery teams to prepare the documentation required for the installation of the IEG Turnkey Systems and associated works.
6. Liaise with the execution designers, equipment suppliers and EPM team to ensure that the requirements and information is provided to support the installation of theIEG Turnkey Systems in line with the MEH JV installation strategy.
7. To ensure that “best for project” decisions are implemented for the IEG Turnkey Systems scope.
8. To support the development of Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s) for the MEH JV IEG Turnkey Systems and wider I&C systems scope.
9. To liaise with the completions team regarding the process for closing out the MEH JV obligations prior to hand the scope over to the commissioning team.
10. Be the MEHJV subject matter expert regarding the care and maintenance and Foreign Object Exclusion (FME) for the Turnkey Systems.

 

 

Key Deliverables:
1. Ensure the consistent delivery of the Turnkey Systems installation across all the areas and buildings by providing timely and relevant information to all area and building leads.
2. To ensure that the Turnkey Systems works are fully in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations.
3. Promote and maintain health and safety to support of a positive Nuclear Safety Culture. 
4. Risk management and mitigations strategies.
5. Support the planning and training of the blue-collar trades required for the scope.
6. Liaise and coordinate with the execution designers, EPM team and equipment manufacturers to ensure that the full installation requirements are known, and interfaces are identified and resolved.
7. Liaise and coordinate with the equipment manufacturers regarding product familiarisation and factory training where required.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications/ Experience 
(in line with MEH Onboarding matrix)

1. Minimum of 10 years experience in MEH construction project management.
2. A good working knowledge of industrial electrical installations.
3. A good working knowledge of industrial I&C systems.
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
5. Up to date knowledge of workplace / construction Health and Safety
6. Degree / HND / HNC – Electrical Engineering (or suitable work experience).
7. Proficient use of IT and MS Office software.

 

 

Additional Qualifications/ Experience:
1. Awareness of the UK nuclear site licence conditions application
2. Awareness of the UK CDM regulations 
3. Awareness of nuclear quality requirements


Area/Building 
The role involves the planning for, and delivery of, the Turnkey Systems (and I&C) scope across the whole of the nuclear island, conventional island, and balance of plant. This transverse scope will interface with all the Area / Building leads to ensure a consistent approach and delivery
