We are pleased to offer an opportunity for a Trainee Safety & Health Environment Advisor, supported through the Level 3 Safety, Health and Environment Technician Apprenticeship.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who has an interest in workplace safety, health, and environmental management and would like to gain a nationally recognised qualification while developing practical skills on the job.
About the Role
As a Trainee H&S Advisor Technician, you will support the delivery of Safety, Health and Environment activities across the organisation, working closely with the HSE team and operational managers.
Alongside your day-to-day duties, you will complete the Level 3 Safety, Health and Environment Technician apprenticeship, which provides structured learning, workplace experience, and assessment to build competence in a technical HSE support role.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Assisting with incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions
- Maintaining HSE records, documentation, and compliance registers
- Supporting the implementation of HSE policies and procedures
- Assisting with toolbox talks, inductions, and awareness activities
- Helping to monitor health, safety, and environmental performance
- Supporting environmental initiatives and sustainability activities
- Duties will develop over time as skills, knowledge, and confidence grow.
The Apprenticeship Programme
- The Safety, Health and Environment Technician (Level 3) apprenticeship is designed to develop competent HSE technicians who can support
- organisations in maintaining safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplaces.
- The programme includes:
- Structured off-the-job learning.
- Workplace-based practical experience.
- Ongoing assessment and support.
- End-point assessment to demonstrate occupational competence.
- Successful completion provides a strong foundation for further development within Health & Safety and Environmental roles.
Benefits:
- Starting salary from £28,000 plus 8.65% guaranteed site bonus.
- Working on a 9 day Fortnight. Monday - Friday Week 1 Monday - Thursday Week 2.
- Fully supported Level 3 HSE Technician apprenticeship.
- Paid time for off-the-job learning and study.
- On-the-job training and mentoring.
- A recognised qualification aligned to industry standards.
- A clear development pathway within HSE roles, including the opportunity to progress onto further qualifications such as NEBOSH.
Essential Qualifications:
- CITB certificate must be obtained before start date.

- Have a genuine interest in Safety, Health and Environment.
- Are organised, reliable, and keen to learn.
- Have good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Are comfortable working with procedures, data, and reports.
- Are willing to commit to completing a Level 3 apprenticeship alongside their role.
- Previous H&S experience is not essential, as full training and support will be provided.
Additional requirements
- You must be able to provide a 3-year work/ unemployment/ education history required for vetting process in line with HPC protocols.
- You must be able to obtain the HPC pass.
- The site is located remotely and a bus journey of 45 minutes each way is required to gain access.
