Hinkley Point C is the UK’s first new build nuclear power station in a generation that is critical to the UK NetZero targets.

All candidates are expected to demonstrate their knowledge and experience where possible directly related to the criteria required for the role. It is acknowledged that previous Nuclear based experience will not always be possible, as such supporting with project research and how individual skills may be transferable will be important.

 

There are opportunities to put together strategic people plans within the nuclear sector, work on wider company people projects, deliver an excellent first class service to employees and ensure the administration and processes that engulf working life are implemented effectively and fairly.

 

Accountabilities

 

As a Temporary Works Coordinator at Hinkley Point C, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of temporary works in accordance with BS 5975: 2019. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders on site.

 

Key deliverables

 

  • Managing Temporary Works: Oversee and manage all aspects of Temporary Works for assigned work packages in line with BS 5975: 2019 and Dalkia TW procedures.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with client and contractors' Temporary Works Coordinators (TWCs) and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with project requirements and legislative standards.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to CDM Regulations 2015 and all related standards, maintaining safety and quality throughout the project.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Report directly to the Dalkia Temporary Works Designated Individual (TWDI) and collaborate with the NNB Temporary Works Lead to ensure proper documentation and execution of Temporary Works.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and develop a team of Temporary Works Supervisors (TWSs), fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and mitigate potential issues related to Temporary Works, ensuring solutions align with project goals and safety standards.
  • Meetings and Advice: Participate in Tier 1 Contractor workshops, attend relevant meetings, and provide expert advice on Temporary Works to project teams

 

Skills

 

  • Excellent organisational, delegation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High levels of IT literacy, with proficiency in relevant software.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple priorities

 

Educational Qualifications required (preferred)

 

Essential:

  • Extensive knowledge of construction techniques and Temporary Works.
  • Strong understanding of BS 5975: 2019.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Lead Temporary Works Coordinator in an Engineering Construction environment.
  • Certification from the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) as a Temporary Works Coordinator.
  • Familiarity with CDM Regulations design obligations.
  • Proven experience managing complex Temporary Works projects

 

Desirable:

  • Confined Spaces certification.
  • Experience on the Hinkley Point C (HPC) site.

 

Work location

 

  • 37hrs per week
