The role
As a Supply Chain Specialist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is an exciting opportunity working collaboratively towards the delivery and construction of Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station based in Suffolk.


Day-to-day, you’ll be part of the Supply Chain team responsible for the effective procurement and tender of supply chain requirements relating to MEH (Mechnacical, Electrical and HVAC) and associated equipment services.

 

  • Supporting the development & refinement of SZC’s Company Acquisition Plan in relation to MEH services and equipment
  • Regular & pro-active liaison & support to SZC and MEH customers and stakeholders
  • Development and execution of procurement strategies
  • Leading the ITT (Invitation to Tender) process for a wide variety of services and equipment 
  • Developing long-term Contracting strategies
  • Maintain market understanding & due diligence
  • To develop, implement and maintain appropriate performance measures for the contracts
  • To follow the agreed Procurement processes and procedures at all times
  • Devising and implementing appropriate supplier development strategies
  • Devising and implementing supplier quality improvement programmes, cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives with the supply chain
  • Working closely with the other Supply Chain teams to set and drive metric performance measures with suppliers for continuous performance monitoring.
  • To develop strategies that incentivise suppliers to deliver performance objectives.


This role is full time, thirty-seven hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 20% office days and 80% from home and is based at our Bristol hub, with very occasional travel to other locations such as London and suppliers in the UK and Europe. 

 

Essential experience of the Supply Chain Specialist

  • Detailed working knowledge of the Procurement and Contract Management
  • Experience gained from Nuclear, Defence, Mechanical or Engineering sectors and/or from complex projects is advantageous 
  • NEC experience is highly desirable and advantageous
  • Ability to promote effective teamwork by personally acting as a mentor & role model

 

Qualifications for the Supply Chain Specialist

  • MCIPS qualified, working towards MCIPS, or holding an equivalent professional qualification is desirable 
  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent in an engineering field is advantageous
