The Role

An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a Site Supervisor (Black Hat) to join our highly successful global company.  The talented individual will play a pivotal role in supporting installation activities at a site near Bridgewater, Somerset. This position involves overseeing two major projects focused on the deployment of advanced operational and radiological protection equipment (RPI).

 

The role will require regular and close interaction with other members of the UK Services team locally, nationally and globally, reporting to the UK Services Director within the Technologies Division, EMEA/ APAC.

 

Travel to various sites (UK and occasionally overseas) will be expected to complete other tasks as required.

 

Applicants must be either a British or EU passport holder due to strict security clearance required for this role.  As a minimum requirement you must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check, with the potential for undergoing security vetting to SC level.


Key Responsibilities

As a Site Supervisor (Black Hat) you will have significant ability and experience to provide clear and consistent direction to Mirion staff and contractors ensuring all tasks are understood and executed safely.  You will oversee site activities, identifying risks and implement solutions to maintain workflow and safety standards. Accountable for all areas of safety, quality, security and environmental requirements as well as day to day completion of work tasks and regular safety audits.

 

Proven leadership skills are required for this role with a strong supervisory presence to guide, influence and develop teams in a fast-paced, highly pressurised and regulated environment.  Coordinating resources, logistics and procurement to minimise delays and ensure optimal resource usage is essential to enable smooth project progression and completion.


Qualifications:

•    Significant experience as a Site Supervisor, particularly within the construction industry
•    Experience of promoting a proactive safety culture, compliance, safety audits, inspections, enforcing site rules and procedures, escalating when necessary
•    Experience of working on nuclear licensed sites EDF, Sellafield, NRS, Dounreay would be a distinct advantage
•    SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification
•    Electrical and / or Mechanical certification
•    CCNSG or HS&E or IOSH
•    Excellent organisation and problem solving skills
•    Strong understanding of health and safety regulations 
•    Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to liaise with diverse workers across different teams, subcontractors, clients and management
•    Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
•    Must be fluent in English both verbal and written is essential
•    High Work Standards:  qualitatively, demonstrates initiative and motivation
