We are looking for Site Painters to join our construction team at Hinkley Point C, Somerset, who have the knowledge and skill of applying industrial paint coatings to steel structures. 

Working an average of 48 hours a week, on a 10 days on / 4 days off working pattern


As a Site Painter you will be:

•    Operating the blaster to clean steel according to specified safety requirements. 
•    Maintaining proper respirator care and operation and using the breathing air supply system when spraying epoxy paints.
•    Applying coatings to a high standard, experience working on nuclear or power sectors advantages
•    Maintaining the paint mix room while following the company safety policies. 
•    Ensuring the painting equipment is in full working order, and cleaning spraying equipment with solvent or other recommended cleaning solutions on a daily basis. 
•    Achieving and exceeding company productivity rates, (inc. maintain mil thickness) and delivering a quality service to the client.
•    Participate in all learning and development activities to ensure all painting is completed to the highest standard for the client. This will include everything from site induction to learning all aspects of job as required.


Qualifications:

•    Relevant and in date CSCS cards 
•    Relevant and in date MEWP access card IPAF or CSCS card 
•    Successfully completed Train the Painter - protective coatings applicator or ICATS - protective coatings applicator.
•    IPAF & CCNG safety passport is essential
•    Willingness to take direction from an area lead and follow that direction 
•    Self-starter and able to take the initiative when not working under direct supervision
•    Ability to read and understand technical documents such as paint mixing procedures
•    Ability to prioritise, meet targets and achieve deadlines
•    Can demonstrate efficient painting techniques
•    Willingness to learn and develop self
