Senior Quantity Surveyor

Main Duties:


•    The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for commercial management of site activities, supervising junior team members and supporting the Commercial Manager/Project Manager to ensure margins are maintained and risks are managed.
•    Be responsible for management of commercial activities on site: 
•    Commercial management for allocated system of works, both main contract and subcontract(s) / suppliers as follows;  


o    CEMAR administration 
o    Identification and notification of compensation events. 
o    Assessment of the effects of compensation events. 
o    Ownership of EWN processes, proactive identification and agreement of mitigations 
o    Defect notification and close out. 
o    Payment assessments, certificates, pay less notices etc in accordance with prescribed timescales. 


•    Support of procurement function in supply chain engagement. 
•    Proactive identification of opportunities to reduce costs and maximise revenue. Explore and realise such opportunities where practicable. 
•    Establish and maintain risk registers recording the identification, assessment and mitigations of risk. Assess potential impact and make provision in reporting. 
•    Ownership of reporting stream and all subsequent inputs / outputs i.e. budget, forecast to complete, rates, components of costs required to provide the work.  
•    Recording of in period time and / or cost variations, trend analysis and actions to capitalise and / or arrest. 
•    Ensuring back-to-back risk allocation between Contractor and Subcontractors with alignment as to EWN and CE processes. 
•    Influence project stakeholders to support the maintaining and increase of forecast gross margin. 
•    Coordination and advise supporting members of staff in execution of all of the above.  
•    Support the in the mentoring and development of junior staff members. 
•    Provide advice to other disciplines in ensuring alignment to commercial strategy.  
•    Provide guidance and support to commercial team members support 
•    This position is based Full time on site Monday to Friday


Requirements:


CCNSG or CSCS MAPS
Previous experience in nuclear preferred but not essential
