Senior Project Engineer – Site Construction Services 
The MEH Alliance - Altrad Babcock 
Hinkley Point C 

 

 

Accountabilities:     
1.    Identification & develop services required for contractor mobilisation to site & through scope for enabling services; including Temporary power, lighting, HVAC/LEV, access, lifting & logistical support. 
2.    To analyse allowable & disallowable services as per Tier 1 contract documentation.  
3.    To be instrumental & drive the scope capture & costing exercises.  
4.    To ensure an appropriate level of programme risk is well communicated in the planning (cost model – including well defined scope inclusions & exclusions) and delivery schedules. 
5.    Sound understanding of Temporary Works & Permit to Work procedures in construction. 
6.    Assignment of work packages to the Site Wide Team. 
7.    Monitoring project progress and making adjustments as necessary to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.  
8.    To adhere to Project Governance; Client standards and wider procedures. 
9.    To prioritise workloads within the team.  
10.    Directly reports to the Site Construction Services Project Delivery Manager. 

 

 

Key Deliverables:     
1.    Instrumental in the identification of Tier 1 Contractor requirements and scope capture exercises. 
2.    To assist in the analysis of construction proposals for Temporary Electrical, Lifting, Temporary Works, HVAC and Logistics. Analysis, factoring design, cost, site wide resource levels, on-going commitments, supplier lead times and required by dates. 
3.    Over-see the design & installation of enabling services. 
4.    Production of build schedule & adherance to schedule, providing data on forecast/planned & actuals. 
 
 
Minimum Qualifications/ Experience  
(in line with MEH Onboarding matrix)   
 
Qualifications 

•    Degree qualified in a technical or construction related discipline, or, demonstrable relatable experience. 
•    Experience in a construction/project engineering-based environment.  
•    Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics.  
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.  
•    Sound knowledge of Microsoft office including good level of understanding in Excel.  
•    Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or Higher)  
•    CCNSG Safety Passport or HSE MAPS 
•    IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH (desirable) 
•    SSSTS/SMSTS (desirable) 

 

Experience 
•    Track record in construction or nuclear projects preferred  
•    Experience working on major construction projects preferred 
•    Experienced with NEC/JCT/FIDIC contract frameworks advantageous
