Opportunity for a Security Manager working with Wilson james on the Hinkley Point C Project,


As our Security Manager, you will be based at the site offices and directly responsible for providing a security plan for all the logistics functions, ensuring the status of Wilson James security remains compliant in all their locations (Physical, Personnel, & Information).


The Security Manager will work in a collaborative environment with our client and other contractors to ensure compliance with nuclear safety at HPC through creation and maintenance of a secure status across all WJ activities, driven by personal, team, and organisational security excellence.


This role will engage you with all members of the WJ team and wider HPC security community. You will be expected to attend site wide community events, create and review documentation and deliver presentations relating to security matters.


Summary of Role

 

  • You will be based at the site offices and directly responsible for providing a security plan for all the logistics functions, ensuring the status of Wilson James security remains compliant in all their locations (Physical, Personnel, & Information).
  • The Security Manager will work in a collaborative environment with our client and other contractors to ensure compliance with nuclear safety at HPC through creation and maintenance of a secure status across all WJ activities, 
  • driven by personal, team, and organisational security excellence.
  • This role will engage you with all members of the WJ team and wider HPC security community. You will be expected to attend site wide community events, create and review documentation and deliver presentations relating to 
  • security matters.


Main responsibilities

 

  • Provide security leadership, direction, coaching and support in all Wilson James activities so that strategic and planned objectives can be delivered.
  • Builds strong relationships within the NNB and all T1 security teams and seek to support them in delivering site security objectives in a compliant way.
  • Oversee the day-to-day security activities of the WJ logistics team, providing support and coaching where required.
  • Generation of security data and reports to highlight performance and trends expert knowledge where required, including to our client and customers.
  • Participating, planning and conducting external and internal security meetings audits and maintain records.
  • Hosting external security audits ( e.g. ONR, NNB)
  • Responsible for the maintenance of clear governance of security risk, through simple and robust lines of accountability and responsibly.
  • Responsible for the continuous development, maintenance, and continuous advancement of the WJ Logistics Security Strategies, Policies, Standards. Maintain a Security Management Risk System, ensuring all documentation is produced and managed in-line with NNB and nuclear legislative compliance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relevant data metrics and performance indicators to allow provision of regular performance updates of the WJ Logistics security activities and effects to the WJ leadership team.
  • Ensure a continuous high-level holistic understanding of current and planned WJ activities.


Other duties and responsibilities 

 

  • Manage any reports in the day to day work patterns and ensure compliance with Wilson James HR/ IR procedures.
  • Provide support in the recruitment of further positions.
  • Work in accordance with Wilson James employment policies.
  • Compliance with HPC and Wilson James Core Values
  • Comply with - HPC/NNB and WJ procedures.
  • Carry out any other reasonable request as required by your Reporting Manager.


Personality, Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

 

  • The candidate will provide evidence of being academically qualified preferably with higher education.
  • The applicant will hold qualifications or evidence of experience in security risk management.
  • Provide evidence of strong written and electronic communication specifically in word, spreadsheet and presentation skills
  • The candidate will preferably hold a recognised professional Level 5 qualification in Security Risk Management and be able to provide evidence of a significant level of practical experience.
  • The candidate must be professionally security certified (e.g. ASIS Certified Protection Professional [CPP].
  • Demonstrate experience in providing security risk management in highly regulated construction or engineering projects.
  • Demonstrate confidence and willing to challenge norms - identifying and championing change & improvement.
  • Demonstrate an industrious can-do attitude supported by emotional and physical resilience.
  • Provide evidence of clear concise communication to, stakeholders or security professionals preferably in supporting working relationships.
  • Demonstrate Strong documentation development and writing skills. Post holder must have excellent oral communication skills, always communicating with Influence, and must be a capable and confident presenter of 
  • briefings, and security awareness and training.
  • Can achieve and maintain the required security clearance BPSS and up to level (SC)
  • CITB Managers and Professional Qualification certificate prior to commencement on site.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of HPC and WJ core values.


Additional Knowledge and Qualifications 

 

  • Full Driving Licence
  • Knowledge of security technology


Site Specific Information

 

  • You must be able to provide a 3-year work history and required vetting process in line with HPC protocols.
  • You must be able to obtain the HPC pass.
  • The site is located remotely and a bus journey of 45 minutes each way is required to gain access.
  • This role is based on site and is currently operating a 9-day fortnight rota
