Quality Manager 


Hinkley Point C is the UK’s first new build nuclear power station in a generation that is critical to the UK NetZero targets.
All roles on the project require key behaviours which support the Zero Harm objective, a questioning attitude, and drive to uphold the standards of safety and quality required by this prestigious project. A committed strong work ethic is essential at all levels.


All candidates are expected to demonstrate their knowledge and experience where possible directly related to the criteria required for the role. It is acknowledged that previous Nuclear based experience will not always be possible, as such supporting with project research and how individual skills may be transferable will be important.


There are opportunities to put together strategic people plans within the nuclear sector, work on wider company people projects, deliver an excellent first class service to employees and ensure the administration and processes that engulf working life are implemented effectively and fairly


As Quality Manager you will ensure that the Project Quality Assurance requirements are understood and implemented and to ensure that Client and statutory requirements are effectively met.  You will support the Quality Lead for activities such as developing standards, incorporating lessons learned / best practices in the quality system, training on quality, audits and quality improvements.


Key Deliverables:


•       Provide and demonstrate positive Nuclear Safety leadership, building a strong and compliant culture throughout the whole construction life cycle. Ensure all site activities are undertaken safely and responsibly
•       Manage team of Quality Engineers and inspectors
•    Manage and ensure adherence to the contract Quality Assurance Plan (CQAP)
•    Develop project specific Quality procedures to meet project requirements.
•    Interact cross-functionally with project team members and management.
•    Manage NCR process and feed back to stakholders
•    Monitor KPIs related to Quality, prepare regular progress reports with project management and recommend improvement activities 
•    Drive a risk-based data driven approach to capitalise opportunities and mitigate risks to project performance
•    Manage production and delivery of quality management reports 
•    Manage the review and acceptance of Life Time Quality Records (LTQRs) and associated handover documents.
•    Contribute to management review activities
•    Manage equipment specifications review according to the Quality requirements.
•    Interface with quality client representatives


Minimum Qualifications/ Experience 


•    Qualified ISO 9001:2015 Lead auditor with experience auditing to the standard
•    Ability to lead and develop a team of Engineers and Inspectors
•    Good understanding of core manufacturing and inspection processes 
•    Understand the concepts and applications of problem solving and improvement tools.
•    Ability to lead and facilitate improvement projects 
•    Experience in managing large multi-functional teams and experience in leading leaders
•    Experience of transforming strategic quality objectives into successfully executed actions
•    Degree qualified or minimum 5 years Quality Management or equivalent experience within a regulated industry Extensive experience in managing and delivering multiple operational projects.
•    Experience within the Nuclear sector
•    Nuclear Safety Culture delivery 
•    ISO 19443:2018 experience preferred
•    Ability to organise and structure a diverse workload
•    CQP MCQI, ASQ CMQ or equivalent membership
