What you’ll be doing…

  • As the Quality Management Team Lead, you will ensure the effective implementation of quality assurance and control processes within the defined work portfolios managed by the Quality Management Leads (QMLs).
  • You will foster strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, collaborating closely with Quality Delivery Managers (QDMs). Leading by example, you will provide first-line leadership to the QMLs, addressing issues promptly and effectively. Additionally, you will oversee the line management, professional development, well-being, and succession planning of your team, ensuring their continued growth and success.

Who you are…

  • We are seeking a candidate with an HNC/HND qualification or a degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline, or an equivalent qualification. With a proven track record of leading large teams, inspiring collaboration, and achieving high-quality results on time and within budget. Experience in project delivery within the nuclear power sector, with a strong focus on project quality across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning, is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are vital, including experience in engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders in multicultural environments. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to influence and negotiate effectively in both technical and non-technical discussions.
  • This role requires autonomy and the ability to support Quality Delivery Managers (QDMs) effectively. You will also have experience interfacing with project teams, supply chain organisations, and regulatory bodies such as the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR).
  • Proven leadership experience within quality assurance/control environments in the nuclear industry or other safety-critical sectors is essential.
  • Chartered Membership of a relevant professional institution is highly desirable. Additional experience in supplier management and knowledge of nuclear site license conditions would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with pressure and nuclear codes is a plus, and the ability to speak French is beneficial but not essential.

Why Join Us?

For more than 60 years, nuclear power stations in the UK have been quietly keeping Britain fuelled with massive amounts of home-grown energy.

Our teams up and down the country are proudly continuing to serve the nation – but they also have an eye on the future.

EDF is leading the UK's nuclear renaissance with the construction of a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C and plans for a new power station at Sizewell C in Suffolk.

Nuclear power is the most reliable, low-carbon energy source currently available to the UK. EDF is playing a key role in the development of nuclear sites, while Hinkley Point C will provide low-carbon electricity to meet 7% of the UK demand. The project is already making a positive impact on the local and national economy as well as boosting skills and education.

We’re not just building new nuclear power stations. We’re developing careers, upskilling generations and creating thousands of employment and apprenticeship opportunities across a variety of skills areas.

It takes a special kind of person to work in the nuclear energy industry and although we have thousands of them there’s always a need for more.

Our industry has a mind-boggling range of opportunities and more jobs, and in more places, than you might think. But it’s also an industry which is changing.

We’re a responsible business and proud to be Britain’s biggest generator of zero carbon electricity. With size, age and experience, we believe we can do even more.
