This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our Quality team, based on site at our Hinkley Project, Somerset. With an ambitious order book ahead of us we are looking for an individual who can hit the ground running and support us with all aspects of quality assurance and quality control in relation to the compilation & checking/review of Life Time Quality Records (LTQR's) before issue to client for approval.
As a Site Quality Engineer you will be involved in:
• Liaising with WHL Head of Quality, Senior Quality Engineers on aspects relating to compilation of LTQR's.
• Reviewing contract documents for compliance with QA/QC requirements in preparation of LTQR's
• Resolving any QA/QC queries that may be raised during the compilation of LTQR's. These could be from WHL own facilities, suppliers, subcontractors & client.
• Give assistance to the Hinkley project teams as necessary with quality related activities required for the preparation of LTQR's.
• Carrying out audits as necessary to ensure that the project specifications and procedures for the generation & compilation of LTQR's are being adhered to.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities within quality department.
• Any other duties within the boundary of the job, the ability of the individual and health and safety requirements.
Qualifications
• Educated to a minimum of A-Level standard, with a recognised qualification in Quality Management (Diploma or HNC) as well as a recognised qualification in auditing.
• Reasonable level of working in a fabrication/welding environment and able to demonstrate a practical application of Quality Assurance.
• Experience in working to ISO 9001, BSEN1090 & other industry standards preferred.
• Ability to interpret QA documentation & QA specification as well as carry out audits.
• Ability to build collaborative working relationships with production, purchasing, engineering, projects and client's representatives
• Experience with Root Cause Analysis and Excellent problem-solving skills
• Engaging communicator who can articulate themselves clearly.
• Can demonstrate a strong work ethic, is self-motivated and resilient.
• Works well using their own initiative and pays attention to detail.
• Commitment to completing deadline driven tasks and meeting the needs of the customer.
• Enthusiastic team member who will positively contribute to the continued development of the team
