An exciting role has arisen for a Quality Assurance Manager to join the team delivering this work.

 
Purpose of the role:


To support the Central Quality Lead in establishing and overseeing the implementation of the quality management arrangements, measuring its effectiveness, and supporting the improvement projects required to optimise effective quality arrangements. In particular, to manage the key aspects of the project’s quality assurance arrangements.


Key responsibilities and specific accountabilities:


Audits


•    Manage both the internal and external audit schedules covering all of BYLOR’s direct delivery work scope & tier 2s, following existing audit procedure. 
•    Carry out the majority of internal and external audits on a regular basis, with support from SMEs and other auditors.
•    Coordinate and support the training and development of colleagues through internal and external auditor training.
•    Tracking of all reports and findings from audit to full closure, utilising digital reporting systems where practical (FieldView & Qlik).
•    Support BYLOR’s CARES Accreditation.


QMS


•    Update sitewide documentation and/or provide guidance, review & comment on updates made by others of project wide deliverables.
•    Examples of such documents includes Quality Plans, Quality Management System, Inspection & Test Plan procedure, Quality documentation templates and other quality execution documentation.
•    Ensure alignment with ISO9001 requirements where required.


Surveillance


•    Undertake regular reviews of all surveillance plans for all T2 scopes, onsite & offsite.
•    Coordinate or oversee coordination of surveillance of Tier 2’s by providing support to production of surveillance plans and coordinating appropriate resource for carrying out the surveillance activities required.


Training, Learning & Improvement


•    Contribute to the development and delivery of site-wide quality training in collaboration with the quality training lead and promote a quality culture within the wider project team.
•    Produce and deliver quality fundamentals training to new and existing quality team.
•    Identify opportunities for improvements, define related actions, and then follow up their implementation within scope of works.
•    Act as key point of contact for external development of quality professionals on the project, e.g. linking to CQI and supporting routes to membership.
•    Act as key point of contact with parent company(ies) to share learning and improvement opportunities. Including attendance of and cascading info from parent company quality briefings and initiatives.
•    Promote the various management policies, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).


Key Skills & Competencies 


•    Previous experience in a Quality Engineer, Quality Management or Quality Surveillance position with a good understanding of civil engineering works.
•    An ability to communicate at all levels is essential as you will be presenting on quality matters to project teams, suppliers and Client organisations.
•    A high level of organisation and the ability to follow processes and multi-task is essential as you will have the responsibility for planning and completing many tasks simultaneously.
•    Computer literacy to include Microsoft Office Suite with skills in Word, Excel and Power Point. Experience with further digital reporting systems (e.g. QlikSense) and in field recording tools (e.g. FieldView) desirable)
•    Certified as an ISO9001 Lead auditor
