Specific tasks and responsibilities relevant to a QA/Project Engineer working in the construction engineering field, focusing on ensuring the quality and efficiency of installation works and project documentation.
Assist QA Area Lead in ensuring that the Project Quality Assurance requirements are understood and implemented and to ensure that Client and statutory requirements are effectively met.
Support QA Area Lead for the activities such as developing standards, incorporating lessons learned / best practices in the quality system, training on quality, audits and quality improvements.
Job Responsibilities
1. Compiling Construction Work Packages (CWPs) for Installation Works:
- Collaborate with construction engineers to gather necessary information for compiling CWPs.
- Ensure CWPs accurately reflect project requirements, specifications, and safety standards.
- Organize and document CWPs in a systematic manner for easy reference and accessibility.
2. Transferring Paper Copies of CWPs into SWITCH:
- Utilize digital tools such as SWITCH to transfer paper copies of CWPs into electronic format.
- Ensure accurate data entry and proper organization of CWPs within the SWITCH platform.
- Train team members on how to access and utilize CWPs within the SWITCH system.
3. AS9 Progress and Backlog Updates:
- Monitor and update progress of construction activities in AS9, ensuring alignment with project timelines and milestones.
- Identify and address any backlog issues promptly to maintain project momentum.
- Generate reports and provide regular updates on AS9 progress to stakeholders as needed.
4. Raising and Progress Chasing RFIs/NCRs with the Responsible Division (RD):
- Act as a liaison between construction teams and the Responsible Division (RD) for raising and resolving Requests for Information (RFIs) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Track the status of RFIs and NCRs, following up with the RD and relevant parties to ensure timely resolution.
- Document all communications and resolutions related to RFIs and NCRs for future reference.
5. Drafting and Progressing the Compilation of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Ensuring Sign-off in AS9:
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to draft comprehensive Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) in accordance with project requirements and specifications.
- Facilitate the review and approval process for ITPs, ensuring all necessary sign-offs are obtained in AS9.
- Monitor the implementation of ITPs and track compliance with established procedures and standards.
Qualifications
- Qualifications in an Engineering discipline, ONC / HNC / HND (or equivalent experience).
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Experience
- Previous experience in construction engineering or project management roles within the construction industry.
- Familiarity with construction management software and digital platforms such as SWITCH.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of construction industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Proactive attitude and commitment to ensuring project quality and success.
