Project Temporary Works Lead
PAYE Contract (+ 33 days paid leave). 



The NNB Project Temporary Works Lead is responsible for overseeing the management of the Temporary Works for the Hinkley Point C construction project working on site for EDF Nuclear New Build (NNB) the Principal Contractor (PC) in line with the recommendations in Section 1 & 2 of BS 5975: 2019 - Code of Practice for Temporary Works Procedures and the Permissible Stress Design of Falsework

Principal Accountabilities
• The Project Temporary Works Lead will be required to: -
• Ensure the Principal TWC's fulfil the TWC requirements as highlighted in BS 5975:2019 Clause 11.
• Report to the NNB Head of Temporary Works / Head of Lifting on site.
• Assist the Temporary Works team with compliance of Principal Contractor Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM) duties with respect to the delivery of Scaffolding and access and other Temporary Works (as required).
• Manage, mentor and develop the team of Principal TWCs as required.
• Assist the Principal TWC's with the management of contractors Temporary Works in partnership with the Contractor's TWCs in line with BS 5975: 2019.
• Participate in Tier 1 Contractor workshops as required and promote cross site technical information flow
• Attend and contribute to team, project, client and third party meetings as required
• Provide advice to Project and Construction teams on Temporary Works matters
• Proactively identify potential Temporary Works issues before they arrive on site to enable mitigating actions
• Bring to the attention of the relevant TWC any items found to require design resolution
• Develop and maintain an understanding of the design obligations of the designers and contractors
• Develop an understanding of the design document and drawing approvals processes to understand what documents are approved for construction use
• Ensure design decisions are not taken "in the field" by EDF Energy or contractors, but are considered and approved via a formal process.
• Ensure the execution of Works are in accordance with approved risk assessments, method statements, design and specification
• Ensure that as require each package has an approved Temporary Works design in place prior to Works commencement and ensure that Contractors are complying with such designs




• A minimum of 5 Years as a Lead TWC with experience in Heavy Civil Engineering (RC and Steel)
• Demonstrable experience of working for a contractor on a construction site as a Temporary Works Coordinator
• Experience as a Technical Authority for Temporary Works for a large EPC Contractor in the Nuclear Industry
• Chartered Civil Engineer
• Chartered Structural Engineer
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering
• Master's Degree in Structural Engineering
• The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) Temporary Works Coordinator
• The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Managers Card
• The Construction Industry Scaffolders Record Scheme (CISRS) Basic Scaffold Inspector
• Experience as a Temporary Works Design Engineer


• Chartered Mechanical Engineer
• Registered European Engineer
• Registered as an International Professional Engineer
• Confined Spaces
• Experience of HPC site




The Project Temporary Works Lead will have broad knowledge of construction techniques with high technical expertise in Temporary Works Construction Methods. Specifically, he / she will have good working knowledge of BS 5975: 2019. He / she will possess management skills and have solid experience in the role on a variety of Major Projects.
• Excellent organisation, delegation and communication skills.
• Experience in leading a team by motivating and energising staff. By building a climate of trust and understanding and actively seeking alternative views and opinion's.
• Extensive experience in Temporary Works construction methods.
• Extensive previous working experience in the management and delivery of large complex multi-disciplinary Temporary Works projects. Experience of working simultaneously with multiple contractors is

• A proven record of liaising with multiple internal stakeholders on a major construction project.
• Experience in the application of design obligations under CDM Regulations.
• Must have an understanding of document and drawing approvals processes.
• Strong communication skills in English required.
• Experience of the review and application of contractor Temporary Works procedures.

• Demonstrable experience working as a Temporary Works Coordinator for a contractor on a construction site
• Sound knowledge of NEC Form of Contract
• Knowledge and understanding of this type of Temporary Works on a previous construction project
