We are excited to announce an opening for a Project Manager - Shaftline to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow and develop your career further as a Project Manager whilst being a part of the latest Nuclear Newbuild in the UK. Within this role you will work closely with the Shaftline Construction Manager and will be in control of all project activities and enable global execution and commissioning for the equipment relating to the Shaftline (predominantly Arabelle Turbine, Gigatop Generator and auxiliaries. Reporting to the Field Service New Build Leader you will be empowered around budget control, be informed of delays and ensure that resources and tools are in line with HPC project targets and Arabelle Solutions processes.

Hinkley Point C (HPC) will be a new nuclear power station in the UK. Once operational, it will deliver 3.2 GW of carbon-free electricity, powering 6 million homes, and hence contributing to the Net Zero and strategic autonomy objectives of the UK.

 


Arabelle Solutions plays a key role in the successful entry into operation of the HPC power station through the delivery of 2 turbine islands on a turnkey basis which means that Arabelle Solutions are designing, procuring, manufacturing, installing and finally commissioning all power generating equipment of the conventional island, including the record breaking 1750 MW Arabelle turbine, fitted with the 75 inches last stage blade.

 


Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Organize all shaftline-related project activities, collaborating closely with the Shaftline Construction Manager based on Project Blueprint and planning defined by the Project Director and Site Director. 
  • Develops and secures the implementation of ST related action plans with the shaft line Construction Manager. 
  • The Construction Manager is defining the needs, performance objectives and managing the daily work execution.
  • Understand the contract with the client, identify rights and obligations of each party, secure their strict application and anticipate all actions needed to protect our company's interest, in coordination with functions such as contract management or engineering.
  • Support the dedicated team of the shaft line execution, in coordination with the functions and with the site director and ensures that all members of W01 team know their respective roles and responsibilities and that interfaces are defined.
  • Monitors SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery & Costs) performance indicators for your scope.
  • Collect the need for resources and expertise, escalate them to the functions and request support if necessary.
  • Collect the need of tools and ensure their availability.
  • Ensure the daily management of site enablers with home office and resources leaders.
  • Prepares budget and project reviews together with the shaft line manager and review them with the Site Director and site finance manager.
  • Coordinate the needs for purchasing with site global function and in line with site strategy.
  • Identify immediately any deviations from quality and planning and involve the necessary functions for the implementation of corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Identify and anticipate risks related to delivery delays, quality or costs and implement the necessary actions to limit them.
  • Share the feedback (REX) with the relevant function for other Arabelle Solutions projects.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements, provide support; you will be supported by the other members of the project team.

 


Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management qualification (preferred).
  • Fluent in English.

 


Experience:

 

  • Project management experience in the UK environment.
  • Proven track record managing complex, multidisciplinary projects, ideally in the energy or nuclear sector.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of legal contracts surrounding projects.
  • Strong team player with exceptional communication skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with demonstrated problem-solving capabilities.
