JOB TITLE: Project Manager (Temporary Facilities)

NG Bailey are proud to be involved in the Hinkley Point C project based in Bridgwater, Somerset.  This is the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in Britain providing zero-carbon electricity for around six million homes. NG Bailey, the UK's leading independent engineering and services business, are proud to be part of the MEH Alliance, a joint venture to deliver the mechanical, electrical and HVAC installation for the project.

 

As part of recent growth on this project, we have a new vacancy for a project manager to be responsible for the accurate planning of resources to delivery temporary facilities (offices, working & lay-down areas) for the MEH.  This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive project success, optimise processes and achieve the strategic objectives of the organisation.

 

 

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

  • Define objectives in collaboration with the Site Wide Projects Lead. 
  • Develop robust project plans, including timelines, milestones, and appropriate resource allocation. 
  • Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to meet wider construction project objectives. 
  • Ensure design & build work packages are planned & co-ordinated effectively.  
  • Lead a multi-discipline project team, fostering collaboration and accountability. 
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring alignment with project goals. 
  • Provide guidance, support, and motivation to team members throughout the project lifecycle. 
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between departments to ensure smooth project execution. 
  • Identify potential risks to the Compounds strategy and develop mitigation to minimize impact on project outcomes. 
  • Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle, making adjustments as needed. 
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, site standards, and organizational policies. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including senior management. 
  • Provide regular updates on project status, risks, and issues. 
  • Prepare and present project reports, ensuring transparency and alignment with organizational goals. 
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and address concerns promptly. 
  • Ensure that build specification meets the client's & wider statutory standards and are completed to the required specifications. 
  • Implement and maintain best practices in project management and operations. 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to assess performance and identify lessons learned. 
  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure project needs are met. 
  • Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and external partners to secure necessary resources. 
  • Track resource utilization and optimize resource allocation to maximize project outcomes
  • Ensure material flow meets production demand 
  • Ensure materials are handled according to quality standards 
  • Set up MSP (Mobile Service Point) end to end process

 

What we're looking for:

 

  • HNC qualified in a project, technical or construction related discipline or demonstrable relevant experience. 
  • Experience in a construction/project engineering roe, ideally in the nuclear or other regulated industry.
  • Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or Higher)  
  • SSSTS/SMSTS
  • Knowledge of building and fire regulations - BS5395 & BS5975 (desirable)
  • L144 (CDM) in depth knowledge (desirable)
  • CCNSG Safety Passport or HSE MAPS (desirable)
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH (advantageous)
