We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer/AP to play a hands-on role in the successful delivery of site based engineering and operational activities across major projects. This position works closely with the Project Manager, site teams and wider engineering function to ensure lifting operations and engineering solutions are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with quality and programme requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who thrives in a site environment, enjoys problem solving in real time, and wants to contribute directly to complex, high value project execution.
Location - Hinkley Point, Bridgewater
Work Rotation - 10days on 4days off
What You’ll do
• Apply your engineering expertise on-site to develop and implement practical solutions for heavy lifting and transportation operations.
• Produce and review drawings, calculations, lift plans, risk assessments, and method statements to support safe site execution.
• Be actively present on-site to oversee lifting activities, ensuring operations are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments, providing practical and conceptual solutions for lifting operations in live environments.
• Act as a key point of contact between the client, site teams, and engineering functions, ensuring clear communication and coordination.
• Maintain high standards of documentation control, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records throughout the project lifecycle.
Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering related discipline (Masters in the same field desirable)
• Proven experience working on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects, with strong site exposure.
• Relevant experience in heavy lift transport, shipping or lifting markets with evidence of delivering targets
• Experience with lifting operations using mobile cranes, tower cranes and crawler cranes
• Client facing experience as an Engineer
• Experience with technical codes and standards
• Experience with AutoCAD (Math CAD desirable) & Microsoft suite
• Quality and detail focused with the approach of ‘Right the first time’
