We have a fantastic opportunity for a Plater to work on the Hinkley Point C project. This is a temporary, 6-month contract.
Our Nuclear & Infrastructure division has extensive experience in the specialist, highly regulated nuclear, transport (road and rail), process industries and power and energy sectors. Providing award winning design teams, utilising state-of-the-art design software and Tekla detailing facilities to offer customers value engineering. This gives a mix of proven success along with modern, innovative design and fabrication ideas to be able to provide a quality, specialised service to a growing market. They continue to set the bar high in their highly regulated market!
Vacancy Details
In the Plater position you will work from detailed drawings, interpret dimensions and assemble raw steel components using correct orientations onto material.
Other responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
To be responsible for checking components match bill of quantity on fabrication drawing and are of the correct size and shape
To accurately check orientation of material is correct to technical drawing ensuring the build is the correct way up.
To be responsible for component landing positions and marking out accurately where these pieces are to be placed
Notch manually where needed
To be responsible for recording their ID number to material for accurate traceability
Key Skills & experience
Good standard of general education
Experience working within a site environment
Good understanding of site Health & Safety
One of the following:
- Level 3 Apprenticeship - Plate Welder Standard (ST0852)
- Metal Fabricator Standard (ST0607)
Diploma in:
- Fabricating Engineering Construction Steel Structures – Plating
- Installing Engineering Construction Plant and Systems - Plating
- ECITB Diploma in Fabricating Engineering Steel Structures SCQF Level 7
- ECITB Skills Test Alternative / Skills Test Number: TPL08
- ACE Card
- City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Engineering - Fabrication and Welding
- City & Guilds Part 3 in Welding Engineering Craft Studies Certificate
NVQ / SVQ Level 3 Diploma in Fabrication and Welding (Plate Worker)
NVQ / SVQ Level 3 Diploma in Fabricating Steel Structures (Plating) • ABC Stage 3 Welding & Fabrication Practice
