What you’ll be doing
 

You will drive the development of a comprehensive programme of work that ensures the Nuclear Safety Department within Pre-Operations is fully equipped to meet the key milestones of the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project. You will be leading the project to define the role of a Nuclear Safety Engineer, working closely with experts from Nuclear Generation, the HPC project, and international counterparts to establish an optimal framework for HPC and Sizewell C (SZC). You will develop and manage the team, and be responsible for delivering the documentation, arrangements and tools necessary for the department to function effectively in the operational power station.

You will collaborate with other teams to foster a robust nuclear safety culture and ensure readiness for fuel delivery. You will be contributing to the development of operational technical specifications, ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance.

 

 

Who you are
 

We are seeking a candidate with a degree (or equivalent) in a science or engineering field, ideally physics or mathematics, along with experience in developing safety cases and producing or modifying technical specifications. A solid understanding of Nuclear Site Licence Conditions and nuclear power operations is essential.

Additional desirable experience includes working with nuclear regulators, expertise in nuclear safety for light water reactors, knowledge of nuclear safeguards requirements on UK licensed sites and a track record of contributing within a project-based environment.
