Opportunity for a Non-Working Electrical Supervisor working with Dalkia on the Hinkley Point C project,
Hinkley Point C is the UK’s first new build nuclear power station in a generation that is critical to the UK NetZero targets.
All roles on the project require key behaviours which support the Zero Harm objective, a questioning attitude, and drive to uphold the standards of safety and quality required by this prestigious project. A committed strong work ethic is essential at all levels.
All candidates are expected to demonstrate their knowledge and experience where possible directly related to the criteria required for the role. It is acknowledged that previous Nuclear based experience will not always be possible, as such supporting with project research and how individual skills may be transferable will be important.

A Non-Working Electrical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing electrical projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing teams without directly performing hands-on electrical work. Their focus is on supervision, coordination, and ensuring projects run smoothly.

Supervision & Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of electricians and apprentices.
- Allocate tasks and ensure work is completed efficiently and safely.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Project Planning & Coordination
- Plan daily and weekly work schedules in collaboration with project managers.
- Coordinate with other trades and contractors to ensure smooth project progression.
- Monitor progress and adjust work plans as needed to meet deadlines.
Compliance & Quality Control
- Ensure all work complies with BS 7671 Wiring Regulations, Health & Safety standards, and company procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Ensure all team members follow correct procedures and safety regulations.
- Maintain and complete necessary documentation and reports.
Technical & Problem-Solving Duties
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues.
- Plan and oversee Inspection and Test Plans.
- Ensure materials and equipment are available and used correctly.
Communication & Reporting
- Act as the main point of contact between site teams and management.
- Provide regular progress updates and report any issues or delays.
- Attend site meetings and contribute to project planning discussions.
Minimum Qualifications/ Experience
One of the following from A and B and C and D:
A
- Level 3 Installation Electrician Apprenticeship Standard (STO152)
- An equivalent Electrical Installation Apprenticeship
- Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification (Insulation)
- ECS Gold Card Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification (Installation)
B
One of the following Skills Test:
- AM2
- FICA
C
- Enrolment onto ILM Level 3 Certificate C&BE plus completion of Nuclear Unit
- Confirmation of booking onto Nuclear Engineering Construction Supervisor (NECS)
D
- LATS
- SSSTS (Still require SMSTS)
- IOSH Managing Safely
- CCNSG or ECS HS&E Test
Additional Qualifications/ Experience:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or chargehand role.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installation, and testing procedures.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- 5.A proactive and problem-solving approach to work.
