Responsibilities


Working Hours: Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours per week, 4 days on, 4 days off shift pattern 06:00-18:00


Operate planned maintenance procedures for assets etc. effectively and safely within their range of qualifications, training and experience.
Carry out minor electrical installations.
Deal effectively and safely with breakdowns and damage to assets within their range of qualifications, training and experience as required and by out of hours response where necessary.
Write up reports and technical procedures for Building Maintenance Activities.
Assist in the training and development of other maintenance/technical staff involved in site maintenance activities.
Maintain inspection and repairs to various types of heating, water, ventilation, electrical, mechanical and security etc. equipment and services on site.
Diagnose faults on all mechanical and electrical support systems and rectifying where within levels of competence.
Follow detailed drawings and operational maintenance manuals in order to carry out all planned maintenance, routine inspections and repairs.
Work with other craft qualified, semi-skilled and non-skilled maintenance staff to develop cross-skilling and cover all levels and aspects of maintenance activities on a team work basis.
Participate in emergency call out arrangements in respect of Integrated Facilities Management Systems on the maintained sites.
Operate on a fixed site basis for a defined period, to assist in project/development work or to cover for an absent site manager/engineer.


Requirements:


Essential


18th Edition - Level 3
Level 3 NVQ - Electrical Installation.
Level 3 electrotechnical theory.
Be eligible for an ECS gold card with "electrician" JIB grade.
Experience of building and facilities maintenance.
Full, clean driving licence


Desirable


IPA
PASMA
Experience with electrical fault finding (single phase and three phase).
Experience with carrying out electrical installation condition reports (EICRs).
Knowledge of emergency lighting systems to BS 5266.
CompEx 01-04.
