Material Controller


Location: Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset

Main Purpose


The Material Controller is responsible managing onsite equipment, materials and consumables. Ensuring equipment calibrations are maintained and equipment is available in line with the delivery schedule.


Main Responsibilities


•    Manage stock levels to ensure suitable and efficient equipment available.
•    Assume the responsibilities of the Inspection Equipment Focal Point on site, in the control of all incoming and outgoing inspection equipment, consumables and materials.  
•    Process orders with the SAP system for equipment, materials and consumables.
•    Manage calibration dates of equipment, ensuring routines are adhered to and replacement equipment is available.  
•    Carry out stock checks as required. 
•    Track equipment utilisation and attrition rates, then report to Project Manager monthly.
•    Ensure good housekeeping. 
•    Manage goods receipt via SAP. 
•    Support and suggest the effective management of inward and outward flow inventory. 
•    Carry out spot checks of Bilfinger owned equipment and facilities to ensure maintenance routines are being adhered to. 
•    Carry out minor repairs to equipment to ensure on going availability. 
•    Liaise with suppliers for lead times, availability and delivery schedules. 
•    Prepare equipment 'packs' for easy handover and receipt. 
•    Act as equipment focal point on site in accordance with SAL-INP-NDT-PRO-007 (Control of Inspection Equipment)


Qualifications/Experience:


5 years in a similar role, desirable
Relationship builder with good commercial awareness
Proven track record in a similar role
Experience in a fast-paced environment
Problem solver
High level of attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure and to a deadline
Excellent written and oral communication skills
