Hinkley Point C is the UK’s first new build nuclear power station in a generation that is critical to the UK NetZero targets.

 

All roles on the project require key behaviours which support the Zero Harm objective, a questioning attitude, and drive to uphold the standards of safety and quality required by this prestigious project. A committed strong work ethic is essential at all levels.

 

All candidates are expected to demonstrate their knowledge and experience where possible directly related to the criteria required for the role. It is acknowledged that previous Nuclear based experience will not always be possible, as such supporting with project research and how individual skills may be transferable will be important.

 

Job Responsibilities

•    The maintenance/MOD Manager is an experienced role reporting into the Head of Non-Permanent Services responsible for, ensuring Dalkia’s Project team at HPC, maintain and control the Dalkia Installed/Adopted Site Wide installations as per the Clients and Dalkia business requirements. 
•    The Maintenance/MOD Manager will manage the team effectively after the construction installation element of the project scope, ensuring working to Health and Safety standards and procedures, on time and in accordance with the project requirements. The role will require the following: 
•    Design, Engineering and Procurement:  Study drawings and project specification, ensuring understanding of technical, administrative, and contractual requirements. Maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders ensuring scope of work for package is fully understood. Attend meetings ensuring an effective handover of project to the care and maintenance Team. Develop and monitor risk assessments and method statements ensuring “best working practice”
•    Night/Day: Ensure smooth handovers from the Day to night and Night to day, especially any overlapping tasks from both shifts

•    EICR’s: Ensure that the Maintenance Schedule is coordinated/communicated and confirmed via area leads, eliminating the risk of either postponed/cancelled planned isolations
•    PAT: Oversee that the PAT team and its conformity 
•    Other: Engage in CPD activities and actively contribute to the development and effectiveness of Maintenance Team. Follow company’s policies and procedures and take all necessary actions to ensure health, safety, and welfare.
•    Manage a project Maintenance/MOD    team in solving complex construction, installation, and logistic challenges through systematic approach to planned and organized care and maintenance project plans. 
•    Understand every aspect of the care and maintenance of the site common services project at HPC, control and ensure the team follow the plan and function as a manager regarding care and maintenance systems.
•    Engage with the site project team and contribute to daily, weekly, monthly, and longer-term planning meetings and forums.
•    You will be supporting, and supervisors. 
•    Coordinate with the project procurement and Logistics team.
•    Contribution of project team reviews, meetings, and discussions to set and maintain the project objectives and performance.
•    Support the Implementation of performance monitoring and reporting including regular monthly dashboard preparation with real time KPI’s.
•    Support Look ahead forecasting resourcing projections defined by level and skills to support the resourcing and onboarding of relevant workforce operatives.
•    Manage peaks and troughs with workforce requirements for all maintenance work patterns  “A”/”B”/Nights.
•    Work in conjunction with the SCS team to help triage the Adaption/Modification requests
•    Work closely with SAP ensuring adequate AP coverage for planned works
•    Control annual leave, ensuring that adequate resource is always available
•    Work closely with Dalkia Permit team to confirm that all work faces are covered by relevant paperwork (WAF, TAC, HOC etc.).
•    Be the first escalation of any HR/IR issues


Qualifications

•    Construction qualification through craft or engineering Apprenticeship with relevant experience to Level 2 ONC minimum ideally / Level 3 HNC in building services related construction or Engineering. Or Facilities Management
•    Level 3 NVQ Construction site Supervision
•    Relevant health and safety qualification
•    First line management qualification
•    5 GCSE’s (A – C Grade) including English & Math’s (or equivalent)
•    MS 365 
•    CSCS Card Engineer Skill card or JIB/ECS (Black)
•    Full driving license


Experience

•    Proven track record in large scale projects in the nuclear or similar regulated sector, including major EPC projects.
•    Experienced in delivering and operating delivery of the care and maintenance at a functional management Level.
•    BEng/MEng
•    CIOB or CIBSE STATUS (or working towards)
•    MS Project or Asta Power Project
•    Level 3 HNC in Facilities or Care & Maintenance Site Management
•    Level 4 HND/BEng in Facilities management
•    Level 5 Construction Contracting Facilities management.
•    Understanding of Nuclear Site Licence Conditions.
•    An investigative mind and a keen eye for detail.
