Opportunity for a Lorry Loader Crane Operator working with ENKA UK on the Hinkley Project,


Main Responsibilities

 

  • Obey the duties and instructions given by supervisor.
  • Lift and move loads under the direction of the slinger / signaller or lift supervisor.
  • Determine load weights and check them against lifting capacities in order to prevent overloading.
  • Running, manoeuvring, navigating or driving equipment.
  • Interpret and use of International Hand Signalling for communication
  • Check ground condition and that lifting equipment is level on the outriggers before attempting to lift and place a load
  • Review daily work and delivery schedules to determine orders, sequences of deliveries, and special loading instructions. 
  • Respect Internal Regulation and any other regulations implemented by the Company. 
  • Respect the Individual Labor Agreement requirements and to refrain from disturbing the appropriate progress of company’s activity, showing a suitable behaviour as per the Company’s requirements.   
  • Shall ensure that a "zero harm" approach is taken in relation to all his acts and omissions in relation to the services and the project. Acknowledges that due to the nature of the project, nuclear safety and security are of paramount importance.
  • Agrees to comply with any rule, instruction or requirement of the Company in relation to the services which the company determines, in his sole and absolute discretion, is necessary in order for the company to comply with his obligations under the nuclear site license.
  • Housekeeping of the work areas; collection, segregation and disposal of wastes as required; removal of unused materials and clear the work floors to eliminate/reduce slipping or tripping risks in your work area.
  • Any other reasonable work duties as required


You must: 

 

  • Take care of your own health and safety and that of people who may be affected by what you do (or do not do); 
  • Co-operate with others on health and safety, and not interfere with, or misuse, anything provided for your health, safety or welfare; 
  • Follow the training you have received when using any work items your employer has given you.


General Conditions

 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience of operating similar equipment
  • CPCS A36A Lorry loader, or NPORS N107 Lorry loader, or ALLMI D1+e Lorry loader
  • HGV Category C+E driving license
  • Drivers Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
  • Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS)
  • Hold or Can achieve CCNSG Safety Passport and HS&E test Operatives
  • Able to pass Safety Critical Medical Test
