Summary of Role    


The Logistics Manager  (Black Hat Superintendent) will be responsible for the distribution of all materials and equipment across HPC to the relevant Dalkia Work Area. 
The role will be HPC site based, along with the management of and visits to “offsite” logistic facilities.
They Logistics Manager will be responsible the development of mechanisms to control all aspects of material control across the site. 
They will provide the Dalkia Logistics team with non-working supervision for a number of Working Supervisors and Operatives, along with the line management of the Dalkia Material Controller and Storekeeper. 
They will contribute to the development of the Logistics Team, ensuring sufficient resource is planned for.


Accountabilities:    


•    Report to and liaise with the Dalkia Construction Manager, to understand the current and pending work activities.
•    Liaise with the Dalkia Project Managers to ensure understanding of their Project Life Cycles and their Material/Equipment requirements.
•    Liaise with the Dalkia Planning/Project Control Teams, to understand what is on the horizon and what the logistical requirements will be.
•    Liaise with the Dalkia Black Hat Superintendents/Supervisors daily, to ensure there requirements for materials and equipment are understood, organised, ordered and delivered to their associated work areas.
•    Liaise with Dalkia Quantity Surveyors & Procurement Team, to ensure the correct materials are ordered and delivered on time for distribution and manage the quality control on products and there requirements till construction site team take ownership.
•    Liaise with and Line Manage the Material Controller and Storekeeper.
•    Working with the Material Controller, develop mechanisms and propose/implement software to manage and monitor all materials, equipment and plant on site and in associated facilities/storage areas. 
•    Ensuring cover is in place when absent or on leave.
•    Setting Teams to work.
•    Ensuring the daily tasks are clearly communicated, completed safely and with quality.
•    Ensuring working Supervision is monitored and briefed regularly.
•    Ensuring toolbox talks are regular delivered and recorded.
•    Complete investigations and compile reports following occurrence of incidents and accidents.
•    Deliver safety stand downs where appropriate.
•    Deliver DABs, PLODs and PLOWs to the workstream daily.
•    Detailed Completion of DABs and Daily Site Logs.
•    Day to day contact with other Logistics Tier 1 Contractors (Wilson James)
•    Day to day contact with Bridgwater logistics centre and Junction 24 Wincanton Team 
•    Collection of data and delivery of planned material and equipment moves from logistics coordination team.
•    Ensures Logistics team have the correct incident and safety cover in place.
•    Maintaining sufficient equipment and organising construction site set up.
•    Coordinate movement of Material to the Final Delivery point in conjunction with our delivery partners.
•    Ensure the correct equipment is available for the movement of material.
•    Ensuring the correct waste process is followed.
•    Ensure that building housekeeping is maintained to a high standard.
•    Attend Site coordination Meetings


Other Duties / Responsibilities.    


•    Prepare for growth of Logistics Team. 
•    Assist in the development of Logistics Team Org Charts.
•    Assist in the development of logistics Processes & Procedures.
•    Point of contact for Pay/ HR/ IR issues
•    Ensures Logistics team have the correct incident and safety cover in place
•    Ensure training records are reviewed regularly
•    Responsible for reporting team absence records
•    Responsible for initiating Performance reviews or disciplinary action.


Minimum Qualifications/ Experience 


Knowledge & Experience 


Essential:


•    Able to evidence competency in Construction Logistics Experience in interview. 
•    Delivery of Competency & Familiarisation training
•    Carry out Safety Audits - Observations and Near miss Reporting
•    Able to create Method Statements
•    Able to identify hazards and create a risk assessment
•    Managerial/Supervisory Experience
•    Excellent communication skills written & verbal
•    Proven IT skills – specifically MS Office package. 
•    Knowledge of Logistics Software


Qualifications / Licenses 


Essential 


•    Degree/NVQ/ HNC or Relevant Construction Logistics Experience 
•    CCNSG
•    SMSTS
•    Enrolment onto ILM Level 3 Certificate C&BE plus completion of Nuclear Unit
•    Confirmation of booking onto Nuclear Engineering Construction Supervisor (NECS)
