Summary of Role


As part of the Construction Logistics Team the Planner will work with the Planning Lead and NNB Construction Logistics, responsible for forecasting and producing a plan for delivering day-to-day material distribution schedule for site-wide operations. Supporting the Lead Planner against the NNB Construction planning framework (4/16 week lookahead) to deliver capacity, capacity resilience, and distribution operations across the supply chain, including detailed planning with logistics partners for inbound planning.
The Planner will also be responsible for capturing performance data (against KPIs) and forecasting against demand and past performance metrics to feed the Wilson James Control Tower. This will involve utilising Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to underwrite capacity planning and resilience of the HPC on-site logistics operation.


Main Responsibilities:


• You will be an experienced with planning software and visualisation software such as Power BI and DOMO.
• Manage weekly schedule briefings and plan for operational contingencies across the supply chain.
• Responsible for dynamic planning to site infrastructure changes (BAAs/VCAPs) in order to meet the demands of site distribution and capacity planning.
• You will be a critical contributor to the Wilson James Control Tower ensuring that metrics are captured to support future planning and capacity requirements.
• Forecast, Plan and coordinate work activities through regular stakeholder meetings.
• Show the ability to problem solve and generate practical solutions. Challenge the orthodoxy.
• Communicate with the wider site teams to ensure planned schedules are completed accurately and on time.
• Support Planning Lead to deliver Wilson James capacity and capability building through the lifecycle of the project.
• Support Logistics Teams in the development of capacity planning and reporting.
• Lead and foster a positive Nuclear Safety Culture.
• Work in accordance with Wilson James employment policies and site operational procedures.
• Compliance with HPC and Wilson James values
• Carry out any other reasonable request as required by your Line Manager


Required Knowledge & Experience 


Essential


• Demonstrate experience in planning, coordinating, and complex logistics operations 
• Show an ability to problem-solve and supply initiatives
• Strong communication skills with a can-do attitude 
• Current planning software certification (e.g. MS Project)
• Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics. 
• Excellent organisational skills, 
• A strong understanding of construction operations.


Desirable


• Proven track record in construction.
• Experience working within large-scale projects.
