Contract Type: Permanent 

 

Salary: £15.10 per hour 

 

Various shift patterns available such as: 

  • Day shifts 
  • Night shifts 
  • PM shifts 
  • 4 on 5 off 5 on 4 off (Day or Night shifts available) 

 

 

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Logistics Operative at Hinkley Point C. 

 


Working within dedicated teams, as a construction Logistics Operative you will be supporting with a variety of tasks including the following: 

  • Housekeeping 
  • General receipt of items 
  • Stock Control 
  • Fire signage 
  • Traffic Marshalling 
  • Moving material from Buildings to various compounds 
  • providing general support to various contractors on Hinkley Point C

What we can offer you: 

  • Role – Full Time 
  • Some roles will require a CPCS Traffic Marshal qualification. If you are successful in the role, Wilson James will support you in obtaining this.  
  • Salary: Starting from £15.10 per hour, progressing to £17.07 upon completion of the WJ Progression Pathway 
  • Some roles may receive up to £17.89 per hour. This will be discussed in more detail at the assessment centre/during your interview 
  • Daily bus allowance to travel on-site.

Depending on the team, your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Receipt & put away of incoming materials 
  • Housekeeping of buildings to ensure the engineers can carry out their duties efficiently 
  • Posting of correct signage in buildings 
  • Controlled issue of all stores 
  • Stock checks 
  • General vehicle maintenance & housekeeping 
  • Assisting with vehicle manoeuvring in designated areas 
  • Identifying maintenance requirements for tooling or electrical items (Calibration/ PAT/ Thorough examination) 
  • Housekeeping of stores, buildings and compound areas 
  • Ensure that HPC code of conduct is followed at all times 
  • Carry out any other reasonable request as required by your Line Manager 

 

 

What do we need from you: 

 

Skills, Experience and Qualifications 

Essential 

  • A CITB Operative H&S test (to be completed before the start date).
  • Good communication skills
  • The ability to understand Safe Systems of work
  • To demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in unsafe conditions.
  • To maintain a good work ethic and routine
  • To be able to demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team.

 

Desirable 

  • Experience of working within the construction Industry 
  • Driving Licence 
  • Knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical Tooling and consumables 
  • Understanding logistics limitations and regulation 

 

Site Specific Information: 

  • You must be able to provide a 3-year work history and required vetting process in line with HPC protocols. 
  • You must be able to obtain the HPC pass. 
  • The site is located remotely and a bus journey of 45 minutes each way is required to gain access.
