Logistics Operative - Weekend


Site Based - Hinkley Point C Bridgwater


Summary of role:


The main responsibility is to provide our client (MEH) with the best possible platform to successfully deliver their program. You will play a crucial role in the efficient movement, storage, and distribution of goods on-site. 


Main responsibilities

 

  • Receipt & put away of incoming materials 
  • Controlled issue of all stores 
  • Stock checks 
  • Identifying maintenance requirements for tooling or electrical items (Calibration/ PAT/ Thorough examination) 
  • Housekeeping of stores and compound areas 
  • Ensure that HPC code of conduct is followed at all times 
  • Carry out any other reasonable request as required by your Line Manager


Health and Safety responsibilities

 

  • All work is carried out in accordance with the HPC safety rules and procedures 
  • Must pass the site onboarding process and attend all inductions as instructed 
  • Comply with the WJ Health and Safety Policy, procedures and protocols at all times 
  • Ensure you are suitably qualified and have received daily briefings prior to commencing works 
  • Ensure that you are working in accordance with Work Approval process and permits. 
  • Ensure that you are fit for work prior to reporting for duty each day, where Covid-19 symptoms are identified do not attend work, book a test and report to your manager. 
  • Report any health and safety concerns to your line manager 
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be issued and must be worn at all times during every shift, you must ensure that you keep it clean and serviceable at all times, report any defects to your line manager. 
  • You will be required to attend a safety critical medical and ensure you remain fit to carry out your duties


Required skills & Experience


Essential

 

  • Stores experience 
  • Good communication Skills including written, verbal & numeracy 
  • Strong time management skill 
  • Attention to detail 
  • Ability to work well with others 
  • ‘Can do’ attitude and willingness to learn 


Desirable

 

  • Construction Site experience 
  • Driving License 
  • Knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical Tooling and consumables 
  • Understanding logistics limitations and regulation


Qualifications & Licences


Essential

 

  • CITB Operative H&S test (must be completed before start date) 
  • Good IT skills 


Desirable

 

  • Driving Licence Cat B 
  • HPC pass holder


Site Specific Information

 

  • You must be able to provide a 3-year work history and required vetting process in line with HPC protocols. 
  • You must be able to obtain the HPC pass. 
  • The site is located remotely and a bus journey of 35 minutes each way is required to gain access. 
  • 39 working hours over 4 days 
  • Thursday - Sunday 06:45 – 17.00 (includes break) 
  • Lunch breaks of 30 minutes unpaid
