Logistics Operative - Night Shift

Summary of Role: 
Main responsibility of the Construction Logistics Operative is to provide the MEH Alliance trades with the best possible platform, to successfully deliver their program.

 

 

Main Responsibilities: 

  • General stores duties.
  • Stock checking, picking, and preparing.
  • Maintain and safe operation of the WJ fleet.
  • Transportation of MEHA materials and equipment
  • Delivery and collection of MEHA materials and equipment
  • Installing way finding signage.
  • Installing emergency signage.
  • Waste management.
  • Fire point maintenance.
  • Water point replenishment.
  • General Building cleaning.

• To utilise the bell-to-bell recording system for each shift as directed by your line manager.
• Maintain a ban the broom ethic by utilising vacuums/ Scrubber dryers and other cleaning and waste collection equipment.
• To carryout housekeeping duties at construction building shared areas, compounds, and satellite accommodation.

 

Health & Safety:
Health and Safety Responsibilities
Ensure work is carried out in accordance with site/department procedures and training provided.
 
▪ Comply with the WJ Health and Safety Policy, procedures, and protocols at all times.
▪ Ensure you and your team have received the required training or familiarisation on equipment prior to commencing works.
▪ Ensure that you are working in accordance with the safe system of work (RAMS), as briefed by your Line Manager.
▪ Ensure that you are fit for work prior to reporting for duty each day.
▪ Report any health and safety concerns to your line manager.
▪ Once Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) has been issued ensure that you keep it serviceable at all times and report any defects to your line manager.
▪ Always ensure while at work you are wearing the correct PPE- at HPC this is 6-point PPE.
▪ If you are operating machinery/plant/vehicles you must operate safely in accordance with the instruction and training provided.
▪ Always set a good example.
▪ Use STAR – (Stop / Think / Act / Review)


Required Skills and Experiences: 
Essential 

• Good written and verbal communication
• Experience in the use of cleaning products and equipment
• Ability to understand Safe Systems of work
• Experience in using Coshh material and understanding cosh assessments
• Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in unsafe conditions.
• Maintain a high standard of personal presentation
• Reliability – maintain a good work ethic and routine
• Able to demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team.
• An understanding of the principles of equality and diversity in relation to visitors’ or colleagues needs


Qualifications and Licenses: 
Essential 

• CITB Operative H&S test (must be completed before start date)

 

Desirable
• Driving License.
• On site experience
• First aid at work.
• Manual handling trained.
• HPC Pass holder.
• HPC Incident Controller.
• HPC TMIC.

 

 

Site Specific Information: 
• You must be able to provide a 3-year work history and required vetting process in line with HPC protocols.
• You must be able to obtain the HPC pass.
• The site is located remotely and a bus journey of 45 minutes each way is required to gain access.
• 39 working hours over 4 days 
• Monday to Thursday 18.00pm – 04.15am.
