As a Logistics Operative, you will play a key role in providing support to MEH Alliance logistics operations  by escorting deliveries and site visitors. You will ensure that vehicles are parked correctly, refuelled and keys are stored securely and records are kept for audit purposes. This will be a very busy role with conflicting priorities, and we are looking for someone who wants to join us who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has the ability to work with blue and white collar workforce. You will be part of a great team, who are supportive and friendly.


A typical day in the life as a Logistics Operative:  

  

  • Driving vehicles or visitor support  
  • General vehicle maintenance and vehicle house keeping. 
  • To utilise the bell-to-bell recording system for each shift as directed by your line manager. 
  • Maintain a ban the broom ethic by utilising vacuums/ Scrubber dryers and other cleaning and waste collection equipment. 
  • To ensure that you wear the correct PPE and your HPC ID pass is on display at all times while at work.  
  • Loading/Unloading of plant, materials and consumables.  
  • Delivery of standard equipment from A to B at several site locations  
  • Housekeeping - including the removal of waste and support to the Logistics Team general activities  
  • Any additional reasonable duties requested by your Supervisor


Required skills & Experience


Essential

 

  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Experience in the use of cleaning products and equipment
  • Ability to understand Safe Systems of work
  • Experience in using Coshh material and understanding coshh assessments
  • Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal presentation
  • Reliability – maintain a good work ethic and routine
  • Able to demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team.
  • An understanding of the principles of equality and diversity in relation to visitors’ or colleagues needs.
  • Experience of working on a construction site


Desirable

 

  • Basic IT skills


Qualifications:


Essential

 

  • CITB Operative H&S test (must be completed before start date)
  • Driving License


Desirable

 

  • First aid at work
  • Manual Handling trained
  • HPC pass holder


Site Specific Information

 

  • You must be able to provide a 5-year work history and required vetting process in line with HPC protocols.
  • You must be able to obtain the HPC pass.
  • The site is located remotely and a bus journey of 45 minutes each way is required to gain access.
  • 39 working hours over 4 days
  • Lunch breaks of 30 minutes unpaid
  • Shift patterns may change in line with the agreement
